Story
Veronica Ruiz is on the run for the first time in her life—though certainly not the last. After being falsely accused of stealing money from her college sorority, she packs up and heads to her cousin Ramón's apartment, planning to change her name and rebuild start over away from backstabbing girls and university drama (and far, far away from her arrest warrant in Maryland). At the local bank on the first morning of her new life, it occurs to Vero that she'd be a better bank teller than most of the current employees.

This explains a lot! Vero is the perfect partner in crime for Findlay! I enjoyed hearing about her boyfriend and cousin who are prevalent in the series.

I found the narrator annoying and not great at women’s voices. Story was ok, but wanted more of Mitch & Abby and they weren’t as prolific as I would have liked. But as usual.. sequels are rarely as good as the original .

Finally a truthful memoir!

So many memoirs skirt around the very things people want to know. It’s captivating that Matthew discusses rumors, struggles, death, failures and successes very honestly. It’s also a little ominous that he passes away shortly after this memoir was published. It is a blessing that he was able to tell his story before his untimely passing. RIP Batman.

Story
An advertisement has been placed (again!) by the wealthy and eccentric Parloni Sisters. The salary is generous and the employers are 90 years old, so how hard could the job be? Well, none have lasted longer than a week. Most boys leave in tears. Ruthie Midona will work in Providence’s front office, and be at the Parlonis' beck and call, forever. That’s sort of her life plan. If Ruthie can run the place in her almost-retired bosses’ absence, with no hijinks/hiccups, she has a shot at becoming the new manager.

Finlay Donovan has been in messes before—after all, she's an author and single mom who's a pro at getting out bloodstains for rather unexpected reasons—but none quite like this. After she and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero accidentally destroyed a luxury car that they may have "borrowed" in the process of saving the life of Finlay's ex-husband, the Russian mob got her out of debt. But now Finlay owes them.

I really was looking forward to this book! Heard many awesome things. I felt it fell flat in character depth because it Jumped around so much it left a lot out and I really wanted more! I would have stretched and given the story a 4 star but the author got political in the last 25 minutes and it turned me off. ( why do authors think they can get away with this? They are going to turn off 50% of readers by doing this!) Narration was very flat and matter of fact and not storytelling. All characters sounded the same because it was told as a story and not the characters talking.
