Story
When poet and writer Joy Davidman began writing letters to C. S. Lewis - known as Jack - she was looking for spiritual answers, not love. Love, after all, wasn’t holding together her crumbling marriage. Everything about New Yorker Joy seemed ill-matched for an Oxford professor and the beloved writer of The Chronicles of Narnia, yet their minds bonded over their letters.

I have never been a football fan and don’t even know the rules but I love history. So I downloaded the podcast to learn the history of a game I don’t understand. The content was thorough. I enjoyed the set up as a story interlaced with comments from professionals.. And what made it really interesting for me to listen to was the voices of the narrators, All were excellent.

Story
Sean was a seventh-grade drop-out, a dishwasher then a construction worker to help his mother and sister scrape by, and a self-described "nobody with a sad story behind him." Yet he cannot deny the glimmers of life's goodness even amid its rough edges. Such goodness becomes even harder to deny when Sean meets the love of his life at a fried chicken church potluck, and harder still when his lifelong love of storytelling leads him to stages across the southeast, where he is known and loved as "Sean of the South."

I usually finish a book once I’ve started it unless it turns out to be crude or vulgar. While this book was neither, the main character is so foolish I could not endure her another minute. I’ll give the narrator 5 stars, she did a good job. Just couldn’t finish the book!!!

Millions of Karon fans will be thrilled that it's life as usual in the wildly popular Mitford series: A beloved town character lands a front-page obituary, but who was it, exactly, who died? And what about the former mayor, born the year Lindbergh landed in Paris, who's still running for office? All this, of course, is but a feather on the wind compared to Muse editor J. C. Hogan's desperate attempts to find a cure for his marital woes. Will it be high-def TV or his pork chop marinade?

I absolutely love the Mitford series. Father Tim is such an adorable character. I have listened to this series multiple times. I never tire at the storyline or the characters. Thank you, Jan Karen, for creating these characters. It is difficult to find good clean storylines without sex, violence or profanity. And I thank, John McDonough, for his wonderful interpretation of the work.

Knowing that their children would have no future under the new government, the Chungs decided to flee the country. In 1979, they joined the legendary “boat people” and sailed into the South China Sea, despite knowing that an estimated two hundred thousand of their countrymen had already perished at the hands of brutal pirates and violent seas.
