Too much political BS
Reviewed: 09-02-21
Constantly making the villain a Dem turns me off. Especially now. In these times when the real villains are on the other side of the street it just seems like Fox News. BS. Better authors out there without the BS.

George Guidall is usually very good but not a good fit for this. Story was solid.

Story
When editor Susan Ryeland is given the manuscript of Alan Conway's latest novel, she has no reason to think it will be much different from any of his others. After working with the best-selling crime writer for years, she's intimately familiar with his detective, Atticus Pünd, who solves mysteries disturbing sleepy English villages. An homage to queens of classic British crime such as Agatha Christie and Dorothy Sayers, Alan's traditional formula has proved hugely successful.

More than half the book is the ramblings of the publisher. The story is unfinished. Unacceptable.

Rumor has it there's a Russian you can turn to if you're very rich, and need dirty deeds done without a trace. The CIA calls him Ivan the Ghost because he's operated for years without leaving a trail or revealing his face.

Interactions completely unbelievable. CIA director implausible. Female lead dialog seems phony. Whole thing is more suited to a cartoon.

Story
Across the country women are being murdered by a killer who leaves no evidence, no fatal wounds, no signs of struggle, and no clues to a motive. They are, truly, perfect crimes. In fact, the only thing that links the victims is the man they all knew: Jack Reacher.

Worst audio book I ever listened too..

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
You'll read it because it is a continuation of the Reacher series. But you'll hold your nose.
Has Running Blind turned you off from other books in this genre?
I'll never get another McClain narrated Reacher book again. Totally unbeleivable. His rendition of Reacher is bad enough, but the other character are totally unrealistic. A 2nd grader would have better character voices.
What didn’t you like about Jonathan McClain’s performance?
Nothing!!!
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Totally disappointed. Never again.
Any additional comments?
Stick with Hill as the narrator.
