Like in previous recent titles the role of legion fighting seemed a bit short & not much like a long campaign but one short battle with the 88s there's still a lot of intrigue tho along with visiting most of the cast except for maybe ol silver & a few others. Here's to hoping that the next book has McGill start as a brain in citizen turovs collection lol
As always Mark Boyett's voice is heaven sent.

For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

good value, good story, good narration

You'll get no complaints from me about this book. Brian Sanderson wrote an amazing novel and the narrator did the source material justice. Characters are relatable, the dialogue is believable, the story is well paced with nice twists, the magic system is interesting & the book is long & a good value. This title revived my love of audiobooks after having read a string of some truly terrible ones. It's a no brainer, get this book as soon as possible.

Gabe Skelter has a temper, which he likes to imagine has the effect of causing people to fear and respect him. On the contrary, his pudgy, underdeveloped body and negative personality make him more your standard outcast teenager. Worse still, he kinda knows what a jerkweed he actually is. Then, in the middle of a class trip, Gabe finds himself spirited away to Regaia: a world of magic, mayhem, and nerd-tastic adventure. Naturally, he’s completely ill-prepared. But in this realm, he’s a monstrous, muscular man of action.

First off, the narration is probably the best I've ever heard, & it's probably worth getting the book just for that. And while it is true that this book is a bit long winded & most readers will not find the edge lord mc interesting, it is truly convincing and (if you're like me and listen to way many audiobooks) a nice change of pace from your vanilla mcs.

Story
Up until now, Montana's gotten by pretending he's a regular guy. Well, a regular, overpowered, god-defeating guy who maybe just learned his hair is in all the wrong places. But the big city is calling, and in order to succeed there, Montana must actually prove himself a deserving duke. If Glaton finds him lacking, Coggeshall could be forced into even further isolation. But if Glaton falls in love with him, the regular guy from Motor City could end up with limitless power, in charge of it all. And just like that, the fate of the entire Empire is in Montana's hands.

A lot of nothing
Reviewed: 11-19-22
I kept buying these books because I thought Montana was going to get more fleshed out and wise to the world. In reality he's just the same character from book 1. Hes completely clueless and removed from doing what he wants or doing quests. He will not use his abilities or skills which Mr Paul already mentioned, and he has a terminally boring inner turmoil/monologue about "the girl" which has been brought up in every just about every book. Ok we get it now it's time to move on, Montana is super whipped on a dead girl from another world.
Montana has 30 some intelligence and wisdom but just acts clueless all the time, the way he handled some situations had me absolutely baffled. In this book Montana mentioned not knowing how many hearthpoints he has but then ????? Nothing. He has all this time to think about the girl on the trip but cant manage to spend his hearth points that will actively boost his team? Not to mention it took idk 5 or 6 books for him to choose his magical building which was actually absurd.
The story and character progression really crawls at a snail's pace and on top of that the books are seriously VERY short so it slows down even more. There are a lot more litrpgs that are much longer and more entertaining, so dont bother wasting 12 credits in this disappointment of a series. Dont be like me, don't let the sunk cost fallacy get you.
A tier voice acting btw.

In my years on this app I've listened to a lot of military science fiction. By now I'm very used to military science fiction authors having a certain type of political bias. Most of the time I don't mind at all despite my views irl differing a lot. The authors who write those books are simply just representing a version of the world they made in order to make events in the novel have context. That's perfectly fine.
That being said skip this one unless you like being lectured by a whiny libertarian. This book is rife with Obama era conservative talking points alongside snarky in jokes which present anything that takes the ire of the author as being against any sensible logic. This author joins the ranks of based antisjw warriors who's work mirrors a 4chan poop post as much as its is physically possible.

Great galaxy building
Reviewed: 03-21-19
Pretty great sequel for the back story of emperor Goth Sullis. Its not nearly as action packed as the other galaxy's edge books, but it does do a lot of world building, and finally answers some questions.
This book takes place after galaxy's edge part II so best to listen to it after that. This is kind of an unorthodox book as it doesn't advance the plot but I say its well worth the listen

This is a great book same as the first full of memes, action, adventure, and D&D references. The world building and sense of mystery was still there but a little less than the first book. My only qualm with the book was that is was just too short, it didn't seem like that much happened. Maybe it was the authors intention to keep me wanting more, but the length just didn't seem to live up to my expectation. Great book overall though, keep them coming!
