I'm still thoroughly enjoying this series: I love the author, narrator, and story lines. On to the next book. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be disappointed when there are no more, and I have to look for another series to start.

Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Good narrator, and I liked the story. I wouldn't get my feelings hurt if there were a sequel someday. I already have one in my head. I have to say, though, that I never thought a Stephen King book would ever make me cry. It's been just over twenty-five months since I lost my heart dog, Abby2. She was an amazing purebred GSD who was so much like RADAR and in about the same shape.

I really liked the story and the narrator. I love Dean Koontz! My biggest problem (maybe technical) was that sometimes even with my volume at max the character that was speaking at the time became so soft that I couldn't understand what they were saying. I'd have turned the volume up to try to understand them and then Jimmy or another loud character would talk and it was so loud!!!! It happened when listening through my phone, external speaker or my cars Bluetooth. Not sure why though. Thanks Dean, good book!
