Story
Aly Jackson has waited her whole life to become editor in chief of All Good magazine. But six months into the job, she overhears her coworkers belittling her. Aly’s clapback? A very public, career-jeopardizing meltdown. To undo the mess, she agrees to a monthlong unpaid leave. Reluctant but determined to turn misfortune into opportunity, Aly retreats to the Lake Michigan beach house her brother, Luke, left to her when he died nearly a year earlier. Except when Aly arrives, she discovers Luke’s slacker best friend, Wyatt, inherited the place, too.

Story
When struggling novelist James Hernandez meets poet Louisa "Lou" Bell, he's sure he's just found the love of his life. There's just one problem: she's engaged to his oldest friend, Rob. So James toasts their union and swallows his desire. As the years pass, James's dreams always seem just out of reach - he can't finish that novel, can't mend his relationship with his father, can't fully commit to a romantic relationship. He just can't move on.

Really good story!

I thought the narrator was very good (other than when he did Pascal’s parts- terrible accent!) and the story was very good, too. Sad for sure but I think you can kind of tell by the title of the book it would be sad so this shouldn’t be a surprise! Would recommend.

Story
Since the day Donald Trump was elected, his critics warned that an unexpected crisis would test the former reality-television host - and they predicted that the president would prove unable to meet the moment. In 2020, that crisis came to pass, with the outcomes more devastating and consequential than anyone dared to imagine. Nightmare Scenario is the complete story of Donald Trump’s handling - and mishandling - of the COVID-19 catastrophe, during the period of January 2020 up to Election Day that year.

Really interesting
Reviewed: 12-10-21
I found hearing about all that went on behind the scenes during the first year of the pandemic to be so interesting as well as so enraging at times. Because this book covers an event that is still ongoing and thus very fresh in our minds, I found myself thinking back to what I was doing in February and March 2020 before life changed so drastically. I think it’s a fairly balanced look back at all that went on (much of it so awful!) but I’m sure that Trump supporters would view this a bit slanted against him. The narrator was easy to listen to, though had some tone/inflections in her voice at times that made me feel like she had an opinion on the matter.
