It was just too much for an easy listening experience. Within minutes I'm overwhelmed and can't keep up. Had to stop listening.

Story
Joe and humanity as a whole messed up pretty badly, managing to get some of the most important people from both the Elven and Dwarven races killed. Now the war is escalating to unprecedented levels, and only one side needs to worry about being slain. With the attackers knowing they can get right back up after dying, they are throwing themselves against their centuries-long foe without caring for the consequences. As the death toll rises, there’s still hope for Joe and the people that he chose to align himself with.

The title says it all. I probably won't continue the series.
Honestly, I feel like I'm being generous with the 20%.

Story
Since his wife died, Ralph Roberts has been having trouble sleeping. Each night he wakes up a bit earlier until he's barely sleeping at all. During his late-night walks, he observes some strange things going on in Derry, Maine. He sees colored ribbons streaming from people's heads, two strange little men wandering around town after dark, and more. He begins to suspect that these visions are something more than hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep.

Unwelcome music, narration good but flawed.
Reviewed: 05-31-22
As others have mentioned, the music is mostly unwelcome, though it did serve its purpose of adding an edge in some places.
I like the narrator's voice, but he made every character sound old. I thought Ed was 80 years old until told otherwise. When he tried to voice young children, he sounded like the wicked witch of the west.
Amazing story. I never thought I'd be drawn so deeply into caring about what happens to an old man who can't get much sleep, but I was. Lovely from start to finish, complete with tears at the ending.

Narration Ruined the amazing series

New narrators ruined this for me.

I had to stop listening.
I really don't understand how anyone could have listened to a Lysander chapter and decided it was OK to charge people money to listen to.
I also don't understand how Julian could have gotten paid or taken himself seriously throughout this "performance." I feel like Alexa would have done a better job.
Mr Elfer should be ashamed of himself for ruining what could have been an enjoyable experience.

Each day we deal with the challenges of ordinary life: a series of mundane experiences that could be summarized by the title of this book, Work, Sex, Money. We all hope that these aspects of our life will be a source of fulfillment and pleasure, and they often are.
