"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

Truly a love hate relationship
Reviewed: 03-02-21
If you can get past the 20-somethings' whining, anger and inability to transition into functioning adults (totally believable from the 20-somethings woke crowd I know), this is a truly awesome book. Truly awesome . . . uh . . . except for one thing. ANYWAYS is not a word! OMGosh! I winced EVERY time I heard it. BACKWARDS is not a word. FORWARDS is not a word! What is it with the modern generation and their desire to pluralize EVERYTHING??? Backward is a direction. There is only one backward direction and it is BACKWARD. Forward is a direction. There is only one direction forward. ANYway is ALREADY plural! Honestly, stop adding an S to pluralizing things that cannot be plural or are already plural.
I did catch ONE editing error. That's pretty freaking awesome to only hear one. Kudos to whoever edited it . . . with the exception of the mess noted above.

WHY Do publishers choose screech old lady voices for young characters? Why? The narration is AWFUL.

The epic and highly anticipated conclusion to the listener-favorite series that had countless Audible listeners (and employees) hooked from the very first Bob - featuring, as always, a flawless performance from the inimitable Ray Porter. Being a sentient spaceship really should be more fun. But after spreading out through space for almost a century, Bob and his clones just can't stay out of trouble. They've created enough colonies so humanity shouldn't go extinct.

This book was very much not my type. The writing is low brow pedantic, the story is overarching and ridiculous. I cannot believe I wasted money on this.
If you like ridiculous romance, characters who behave illogically, and squidgy world building, this book is definitely going to suit you.

Her ability to portray complicated mature relationships is lovely. This book is high on my list of favorite retreads.

If you don't mind heroines who make questionable choices, this is an okay read. The narrator is not the best. The voice and the inflection do not match the character. This book is a better read than listen.
