A little slow at times

There were times where I considered skipping forward to get to something good. Eventually it picked up and became more interesting and it was overall a good story.

Story
Returning to Branding Iron, Texas, is Travis Morgan’s last resort, and the abandoned ranch he inherited isn’t much more welcoming than the prison cell where he spent the last three years doing time for a tragic accident. Completely without funds or family, Travis finds celebrating Christmas is the last thing on his mind, but there’s no escaping the holiday spirit in this close-knit little town - not with Branding Iron’s longtime Santa retiring, and sweetly stubborn Mayor Maggie Delaney determined to find a replacement.

Ultimatum
Reviewed: 01-05-25
Most of the characters are very likable, but I didn’t like the MFC.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS
I can’t agree with Maggie giving the person she supposedly loves an ultimatum like that. She said she could only be with him if he forgave his father. In my opinion that should be his decision, he shouldn’t be forced into it. She used the love he had for her against him as leverage to get him to do what she wanted him to do and I can’t agree with that kind of manipulation.

Likable characters with a satisfying story. The heroine rubbed me the wrong way at the beginning of the story but she redeemed herself quickly.

Good story and likable characters
Reviewed: 12-30-24
Good story with likable characters that want to do better and improve their lives while supporting and standing up for each other. I’m not one to like unnecessary drama due to miscommunication or misunderstandings, (or sabotage) and while there was some drama it wasn’t enough to turn me away.

Story
He's a tattooed, blue-eyed jerk who has no business being a single dad. He's also my next-door neighbor, and after negotiations, my grumpy employer for the summer. I don't put up with cocky males normally, and I certainly won't put up with that man making noise at all hours of the day and night while he builds his glamp-ground. I offer advice, but the stubborn fool just turns his tractor on to drown me out. He returns the favor by pushing my buttons and making me so angry I can't see straight. And I really want to be able to see his gorgeous body in those well-worn jeans and backward hat.

Paisley was the worst
Reviewed: 12-29-24
I almost quit listening several times and finally couldn’t take anymore. I skipped to the last chapter hoping the end would be worth it. I honestly wish they wouldn’t have ended up together because Gannon deserved better. Seriously Paisley always thought Gannon was in the wrong whenever they had disagreements and expected him to agree with her and apologize to her when he had valid points. She was immature and I couldn’t stand her personality. I’m so mad I wasted time on this story. She didn’t want anyone telling her what to do or question her decisions but she constantly voiced her opinion on his decisions on how to raise his daughter. She agreed to watch his child and then passed the responsibility on to someone else when something came up and failed to let him know and he couldn’t get ahold of her to see if they were ok. And she had the nerve to be upset because he was angry with her. I kept hoping for some character development for her but there just wasn’t any.

Story
One night. It was supposed to be one wild night with my friend - a fiercely sexy chef. Now, I can't stop thinking about her. Can't stop craving her flavor. And that was before I found out our no-strings night resulted in two little pink lines. As the number one winger for the Seattle Sharks and the last man standing in our bad-boy trio, the only lines I'm familiar with are red and blue. But while hockey is my life, Jeannine branded herself on my heart.

Warren was great, I didn’t like Jeanine.
Reviewed: 12-12-24
To me Jeanine wasn’t very likable. I cannot like a person who constantly jumps to conclusions and won’t listen to a single thing anyone else says. I didn’t really like her in the previous books, and was worried I wasn’t going to like this book and unfortunately I was right. That is why I don’t like listening to series, I always feel like someone gets a raw deal in the series and in this series, it’s Warren. I don’t like when authors try to write a strong independent woman character and end up making her self centered, cold, irrational, and lacking common sense. She’s supposed to be strong but comes across as insecure and lacks trust and thinks the worst of everyone. The only reason this book is getting 3 stars is because of Warren, who’s so patient, kind and way too forgiving. This is going in my “do not read again folder”. This series seems to have a theme of miscommunication and misunderstandings which isn’t really my cup up tea. I don’t appreciate unnecessary drama in a relationship so this isn’t my favorite series but really liked the guys so I thought I would finish the series. I’m not so sure now if I want to continue.
