I liked the story- kept me guessing what was the truth. Still wondering if the end is the actual truth or I’m in denial.

Recording had a flaw on it- it echoed in one section but overall I enjoyed the book. The part were you could use visualization and the
Narrator used an example of being in your new home was perfect for me because I’m in the process of getting a new home!!!

I just couldn’t believe how the woman got as far in life ( per this book) with such stupidity ! But in the end , it was a good ‘who done it ‘ story.

I liked the book- although the ending is told to ya - unlike the movie- you have to actually use what you heard & seen in the movie to complete the ending. If you NEED someone - like the author- to hand over the clarity, then this book and the movie are not for you. I also think a lot of the negativity is because they don’t like the actual reality of the ending.

Being from Austin, I was amused the descriptions of the town’s main attractions -almost felt like a sales pitch for the city. The main character kinda
irritated me at times as well as the teenage daughter but that’s how teenagers tend to be sometimes. As irritated as I was over the main characters reactions —it was the last sentence that sealed the deal for me, and made me like the book.

I had just finished one of Grady’s books on Tuesday and found this one and downloaded and finished the next day. Grady based the last two books I read in South Carolina. This one was around the Charleston during the ‘yuppy’ dateline - 80’s. These southern women made me so angry with their obedient proper attitude that got them in more trouble! Myself being a southern woman from New Orleans, I think I would have been able to see right through this charade and would not let my husband be so condescending, yet they had this … “oh hum- look what I’ll lose if I go against the grain“ (who knew there were differences amongst southern women on what’s proper and when to properly tell someone off?). I was angry , then laughing (I once laughed out loud with my headphones on while at work…) and then finally triumph when they ‘woke up’ to their reality . Fair warning… this book IS about a vampire! Not usually my flair but I survived it…. Now to find another one of his books to start tonight….

I liked the story line and I got a good visual impression from the descriptions. I can see this as a movie or those new ‘limited’ episodes! If you like ghost stories you will enjoy this one.
