Story
For thousands of years, the Chiss Ascendancy has been an island of calm, a center of power, and a beacon of integrity. It is led by the Nine Ruling Families, whose leadership stands as a bulwark of stability against the Chaos of the Unknown Regions. But that stability has been eroded by a cunning foe who winnows away trust and loyalty in equal measure. Bonds of fidelity have given way to lines of division among the families. Despite the efforts of the Expansionary Defense Fleet, the Ascendancy slips closer and closer to civil war.

Exceptional Ending… and Beginning.

An amazing ending to a great trilogy!
Reviewed: 08-30-22
Timothy Zahnu wonderfully captured the persona and backstory of Thrawn to what has made him familiar in his time in the Empire. Linking everything we saw from the Clone wars and Rebels series, this closes the loop and I look forward to seeing where his story goes back in the outer rim after his "departure" in the Rebels series. I hope Disney doesn't dismiss how loved and popular Thrawn could be. Marc Thompson has also been a delight to listen too! He is great at all the different characters and voices he plays and I look for books just because he has narrated them. I would love to see these books turned into a live action miniseries and l see all the CG that would make it spectacular to see and not just read/listen too.

Story
In the absolutely packed Act II, the dark fantasy resumes and the Sandman expands into the French Revolution, ancient Rome, 19th-century San Francisco, eighth-century Baghdad, and beyond. New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter.

did not follow a story line like the first

the performance was good, and a majority of the story line was as well. Only downside was that this was more a combination of different stories and not a continuous plot.

Story
When the Colonial Marines set out after their deadliest prey, the Xenomorphs, it's what Corporal Hicks calls a bug hunt - kill or be killed. Here are fifteen all-new stories of such "close encounters", written by many of today's most extraordinary authors. Set during the events of all four Alien films, sending the Marines to alien worlds, to derelict space settlements, and into the nests of the universe's most dangerous monsters, these adventures are guaranteed to send the blood racing - one way or another.

Good listen overall

There was a good variety of short stories, some great, some ok. But overall I'd recommend to listen if not to get some backstory.

Though unaware of the danger it poses, the scientists there recognize their prize's immeasurable value. Early tests reveal little, however, and they come to an inevitable conclusion. Story
Some of the parchment pages were the color of cream, thick and substantial, made to last many, many lifetimes. Other pages were thin and desiccated, positively yellow from age, and crackled alarmingly as Van Richten turned them over. There were no ornate illuminations, no fussy borders, only lines of plain text in hard black ink. The flowing handwriting was a bit difficult to follow at first; the writer's style of calligraphy had not been in common use for three hundred years.

High fantasy doesn’t get better than this - revisit the classic Forgotten Realms in this 2nd book of the Finder’s Stone Trilogy by veteran authors Kate Novak and Jeff Grubb. More than a hunk of junk, the Wyvern’s Spur has moldered in a crypt for 15 generations until now. The Wyvernspur family’s powerful heirloom has been stolen, and grand wizard and patriarch Drone Wyvernspur is the first to fall to the ancient item’s curse. The family fool, Giogi, is left to find it, but even recovering the spur cannot guarantee his clan’s safety. Fortunately, the famous halfling bard Olive Ruskettle and a mysterious and talented mage named Cat are willing to help.

was great to listen too and well voiced. I had always wanted to read these books but never had the time but the books were a great alternative and I'm glad audible had these. (I did hear a cough in the background once and took it as a hidden Easter egg by the narrator lol)
