Story
The Coldfire trilogy tells a story of discovery and battle against evil on a planet where a force of nature exists that is capable of reshaping the world in response to psychic stimulus. This terrifying force, much like magic, has the power to prey upon the human mind, drawing forth a person's worst nightmare images or most treasured dreams and indiscriminately giving them life. This is the story of two men. They are absolute enemies who must unite to conquer an evil greater than anything their world has ever known.

Great revisiting this book.

This is one of my favorite trilogies. I remember reading it so many years ago. I had to buy the book a few times over because it kept disappearing. It was incredible to visit it again. And now, it will not be disappearing again. Such a great story. While, the first book centers on a strong "belief" system. I was fascinated by the growth of the characters. Life is never black and white. It's the grays that make life interesting and fun. While some may shy away from it because of the underlying storyline. Give the series a chance. It doesn't disappoint at all. And the underlying story is not what one expects. 😊

This has been one of my favorite Vampire Chronicle Books. Mind you, I love all of the books in the series. But, this was the first real Mayfair Witches/Vampires crossover. I was so excited when I first read it when it first came out. I fell in love with Merrick. Such an incredible character. And now, having someone so talented read it to me...so wonderful. It gave the book a whole new dimension. Highly recommend.

In the absolutely packed Act II, the dark fantasy resumes and the Sandman expands into the French Revolution, ancient Rome, 19th-century San Francisco, eighth-century Baghdad, and beyond. New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter.

I do enjoy this book series. Always a fun listen that has its fill of excitement. I does have the typical cliche with the defenseless woman...which I have an issue with. But, I do love the endings.
