Out of the hundreds of books I’ve read— this is the only one that’s ever filled my heart with so much warmth and gratitude. I am truly grateful for this book. Annika is so truly wonderful. Jonathan is brilliant. Janice is amazing.
Ms. Graves, thank you for creating this book.

Verity’s voice performance is better than Lowen’s. What really bothered me was the lack of character development.
Spoiler:
Lowen was there for about two weeks and all of a sudden they’re in love? Girl needed get a grip. Jeremy’s also suspicious bc he never opened up abt knowing the manuscript. I mean, wtf? If Verity was in fact the kind of person she wrote on her manuscript to have been, you’d still let your child be around her? Are you dumb? Common sense, Jeremy. And then having sex with another woman who you just met two weeks ago? Both of them are just stupid and irrational.
Why did Verity have to over-explain herself like that in the letter? You’d think that for a woman who’s trying to be as efficient with her time and is one of the best thriller writers out there, that she would be more effective in explaining herself. It just sounded stupid. So you’re telling me that all of this happened because of some creative exercise? Bc you wanted to practice antagonistic writing? Sounds unbelievable and a lame excuse, which makes me think she did do those things. But I guess that’s the point. Hoover wants you to doubt. But I guess we’ll never know since those dumbos killed her before she could adequately explain herself.

In fact, the only thing they have in common is that for the next three months, they're living in neighboring beach houses, broke, and bogged down with writer's block.

Story
Lucy Hutton has always been certain that the nice girl can get the corner office. She's charming and accommodating and prides herself on being loved by everyone at Bexley & Gamin. Everyone except for coldly efficient, impeccably attired, physically intimidating Joshua Templeman. And the feeling is mutual. Trapped in a shared office together 40 (ok, 50 or 60) hours a week, they've become entrenched in an addictive, ridiculous never-ending game of one-upmanship.
