Story
Love might not be what we think it is. We all seek the happiness that comes from loving and being loved, yet we often find ourselves dissatisfied in our relationships and unable to grasp the cause. Thich Nhat Hanh here shows the way to overcome our recurrent obstacles to love - by learning to be mindful, open, and present with ourselves and others. As he explains, "training is needed in order to love properly; and to be able to give happiness and joy, you must practice deep looking directed toward the person you love."

Trust that being in the present is a real thing for all mindsets and the peace it brings is infinitely loving and compassion leads to vulnerability.

I know I needed to hear a lot of this and it was true like the part about peer pressure. The culture right now is messy and incomplete and this book helped me accept the focus on what I want to accomplish at the end of the day spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Not a lot is said in today’s society about men’s mental healthy choices or rights of passage, respectfully, and that is how I felt listening to this read. Now, the future is in my hands and I can be a more confident hero with my two boys and wife of eight years.

Excellent research and guidance. I am a believer now with more to go on than just “feel good” behavior and “stay positive, when no one else is,” findings.
