This story follows two main characters in two different time periods. The only thing they seem to have in common... Willard Asylum.

The characters are developed and portrayed in such greatness that I'm going to legitimately miss having them in my life. You'll be tugged at and made to love them. The story is twisty-turny enough to keep you engrossed, but not enough to be confusing. It's a beautiful tale of love, loss and re... well, you'll have to read it for that part.

Very Enjoyable Throughout

I enjoyed the concept here of Holly consistently trying to put the pieces together and figure out her own story. The music and effects you get in the background are done in a way that enhances the story (gentle heartbeat to convey the intensity or music when inside a club). Julia Whelan is pleasant to listen to and her subtle changes in voice are quite skilled. Her version of some of the male characters is a touch off, but nothing distracting or annoying (you can only expect so much from a single performer, right?)
There are a lot of concepts here that lead your mind to question "what is real" or "what makes a thing real" and I very much enjoyed those underlying themes as well. This mixed with the mystery and action interspersed not only kept me interested, but also had me talking about it the whole way through. I did like the twist ending and the remaining questions for you to conjure up your own version. I see in other reviews that some did not like that, or the potential misgendering of a stranger. That didn't phase me at all, either.
Overall, very good story, read by an enjoyable and interesting performer with a great set of sound effects to enhance the experience.

This is an excellent ending to what had become the favorite part of my day. I loved my time with Rogue and ATO. They were funny, smart, strong and had varying unique relationships with each other. The whole series was filled with action, love, sex, death and anything else you could want out of a book.
I very much enjoyed having a strong female lead who didn't get weaker or softer when men/problems came along through the story. Her supporting characters all played their part to be exactly that, supportive of her. They gave her strength and respected her independence along the way.

Again, Kelsey Navarro and Lance Greenfield were a joy to listen to. I'll be on the lookout for more from the both of them as well as more Mila Sin.

Rogue and her boys are moving forward with plans made in the first book (if you haven't read it, go do that first). They run into problems from multiple angles and have to maneuver wisely to pull it off and come out alive. You get to dive deeper into Rogue's past, the history of ATO and unwind connections across the boards. Plenty of action, loads of steamy scenes (including MM action) and character development.
Kelsey and Lance continue to do a great job performing these characters in a way that lets you kick back and enjoy while still being on the edge of your seat.

I absolutely love Rogue's strong female lead, toughness and overall bad-assery. She's smooth in her field as an assassin and quite funny. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her along with her boys.
I found this book series by following Lance Greenfield as a narrator from another book he had done. I'm very glad I did, he did a phenomenal job in this book of playing 4 very different men with personality and accents for each. This is the first time that I've listened to Kelsey Navarro and got along well with her being the main point of the story and her ability to play many different moods and scenarios.

First off, you have to do Flock and Exodus first... this is the third.
Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden again deliver an unbelievable performance here. The way they play off each other and show such range in characters is incomparable.

The first book in this series is where you fall in love. The second is where you fall apart. This one is where it all falls together. make no mistake, you WILL fall!
This book is where you hear the secrets, the stories untold, the lies unravel and souls left bare. It'll change you and it's completely worth it.

If you haven't read Flock first, go do that. It gives you the characters and the love for them. Added bonus, Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are back to duet the audio and do an incredible job again.
This being the second book... Well, some stuff goes down that changes everything. It'll wreck you and make you obsessed with the characters and their quotes.

Worry not, there's a third... So, have it on deck for when you need healing after this.

This is the first Kate Stewart book I read, and absolutely LOVED IT! Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell did perfect audio for the story and showed real talent bringing these characters to life.
From the first word to the last, she feeds us relatable characters in crazy situations.
You'll fall in lust, then love, then betrayal and feel every possible feeling in between.

Don't think about getting this book, just go ahead and dive in. It's the first in a series, so have book 2 and 3 at the ready to stave off your cravings when you're finished here.

Felt Like A Play

I really enjoyed the play feeling of this book. If you like Broadway plays or theater, you'll probably enjoy it also.
The writing and the acting are both "over the top" to suit the setting of being in theater and I thought they were both done really well. I could picture it and relate to what felt like very genuine characters through the whole thing.
It does have timeline jumps between the cops investigating and the play itself (where the crime took place). I don't always enjoy that, but it felt very natural here. I suggest stereo, whether in your car or earbuds... I feel like it lent to the whole experience.

This was a brilliant story with great narration.
To be able to watch the characters grow and feel like each of their discoveries is your own, as well... that's ingenious! I also very much enjoyed Neil himself talking about writing the story at the end. I feel like it gives a little glimpse of "behind the scenes" so to speak.
