Story
Defending the Constitution behind Enemy Lines is an explosive, tell-all book, detailing the military COVID-19 vaccine mandate, and the resistance to that mandate by service members who could not, in good conscience, go along. As an actively serving Navy Commander, Robert A. Green Jr. removes the veil of military secrecy and complexity to shed light on the related unlawfulness and the official cover-up being committed by certain DoD leaders.

Everyone should read this book. Whether you believe the COVID-19 vaccine is/was safe and effective or you don’t, it doesn’t discount the fact laws were broken in mandating an experimental vaccine.

Story
Believers are called to authentically demonstrate both the character of Jesus and the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit in their daily lives. Unfortunately, parts of the church are unwilling to encourage the operation of the Holy Spirit’s empowering gifts, for fear of creating disorder and chaos. Greg Mohr contends that the biblical mandate for all believers is to move in the regular, supernatural demonstration of the Spirit’s gifts.

This was an excellent book providing great insights for operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Unfortunately, the narrator mispronounced many words to the point it detracted from the information being presented.

Story
Words are the most powerful things in the universe! The words you speak will either put you over in life or hold you in bondage. Many people have been held captive in their circumstances by their own words. The absence of God's word in your life will rob you of faith in his ability...Put yourself in a position to receive God's best for you by speaking his Word. God's creative power is still just as it was in the beginning of time when he stood there and said, "Light-be," and light was.

A book of power, beauty and grandeur, here is a majestic rendition of the love of God. Rarely has a piece of Christian literature combined the simplicity of the storytelling art with the profound depths of the Christian faith. In this sweeping saga, spanning from eternity to eternity, you will discover some of the deepest riches afforded the believer. Who is fit to be the beautiful bride of God? How shall the Carpenter, rising from the dead, bring her forth? The story concludes at the consummation of the ages, when a victorious Lord takes his bride to himself.

Why are the best leaders the ones who are most adept at following? What should we expect of those who have the privilege of leading? And what may leaders expect of those who follow them? Drawing upon a military career spanning more than four decades, General Martin Dempsey, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, examines the limits of loyalty, the necessity of sensible skepticism, and the value of responsible rebelliousness, and explains why we actually should sweat the small stuff.

NTFS is a great leadership book, and while I would normally desire to read vice listen to the book, in this case, it is exactly opposite. The opportunity to hear GEN Dempsey read his own words, tell his own stories, and even sing a closing song makes this my very favorite audio book. It’s a quick “read” and I imagine I will “read” it again very soon! A+++!!!

This book provided fantastic insight into the leadership philosophy and culture at Southwest Airlines. The message is pertinent no matter your industry or the number of people you lead. Regardless of where you fall in an organizational hierarchy, we all have a sphere of influence and can apply these principles. The fact you can hear the former President of Southwest Airlines, Colleen Barrett’s own words makes this even more special!

Still a Great Story 25 Years Later
Reviewed: 04-20-19
I first read This Present Darkness 25 years ago after graduating from college. I remembered enjoying the book and decided to listen to it again during my commute to and from work. It's still a fantastic story! I did read some negative reviews about Jack Sondericker's performance that I disagree with. I thought the performance was excellent. I actually increased the speed to 1.5x and thought it was great. I like the fact he uses different voices to bring the characters to life. Whether you are a Christian or not, this book will make you think about the spiritual realm and the things we may not be able to see while reading a very entertaining story!

Story
Who is killing America? Is it really Donald Trump and a GOP filled with white supremacists? In this audiobook, Dinesh D’Souza makes the provocative case that Democrats are the ones killing America by turning it into a massive nanny state modeled on the Southern plantation system. Death of a Nation's bracing alternative vision of American history explains the Democratic Party's dark past, reinterprets the roles of figures like Van Buren, FDR, and LBJ, and exposes the hidden truth that racism comes not from Trump or the conservative right but rather from Democrats.

Dinesh D’Souza is one of the most brilliant minds of our time. He backs up his arguments with facts, not emotions. He provides a history that all Americans should know and understand, lest it be lost to the annals of history. As an immigrant himself, he gets this. It’s also great to listen to a book read by the author!

This provided a good counterpoint to what is normally preached as consensus amongst scientists in the mainstream media. If nothing else, it will help people relax when it comes to stress about climate change. My one complaint is that I can’t see the figures when I’m listening to an audiobook in the car.
