I can’t believe I was taken in by the hype about this book. It felt as tho it was written by AI using a checklist. Not one subject was fleshed out in an interesting way. Such a disappointment! I feel like an idiot for finishing it!

A bit of a mess but I hung in there. Dated and/or unrealistic plot points didn’t stop me listening. I kind of got into the characters, and the Very good narration was my reason for finishing it.

Well structured and well written, another gem from SJ. I liked the way he laced stories together.

Listening to this made me want to never eat pork again. The immoral pig companies sacrificing everything—everything!— for filthy lucre. And the fierce fighters who fought them. Great story, very well narrated.

I really enjoyed the beginning and I really enjoyed the end in the middle There was a lot of stuff that could’ve been edited out. I never saw the movie because I lived on Cape Cod and I was too afraid. Now there are lots of sharks off cape cod! For decades I’ve I lived in California — seen or as but they weren’t killing humans!
I enjoyed the audio book very much. Great narrator even tho he doesnt know east coast shore pronunciations.—no big deal, he had the time and energy right.

In this case, what happens in the Camino should stay in the Camino. I Gave up after the bratty kid made his umpteenth obnoxious and ungrateful remark. Why was this book written except to throw the kid under the bus? At the same time I wondered how the kid lived so long! (he was that much of a little sh*t, as my grandmother would say.) Giving guys named Sam a bad name! I’m getting a refund.

Enjoyed this methodical and comprehensive account of how it goes down! Deleted one star because there was nothing about how people were chosen to perform various roles, which I am interested in; Who puts the team together, and how? A minor quibble. After listening I watched Network and saw things explained in the book, which was fun. A good companion to film editor Paul Hirsh’s cutting room book.

I like hearing about the politics and the practicalities of a film editor and was surprised at the allegiance to directors, but not so much to the editors that the author worked with. It felt like he never worked with the same Editor twice, but that may just be attributable to the fact that he worked with a lot of different editors and maybe it wasn’t even up to him. Light reading for the film Fan, I enjoyed it.

Especially liked the treatment of the trial’s effect on the family. Otherwise a peek into the lives of immense privilege. One story made me burst out laughing but otherwise no laughter … and there was a bit too much bragging.
