Story
Daphne always loved the way her fiancé Peter told their story. How they met (on a blustery day), fell in love (over an errant hat), and moved back to his lakeside hometown to begin their life together. He really was good at telling it…right up until the moment he realized he was actually in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Which is how Daphne begins her new story.

Funny story has all the elements

Bought for the reviews, stayed because it was a great read. I laughed, cried and really empathized with the female lead. Growing up is hard. Growing past all the hurts and moving into adulthood even harder especially with parental units that are emotionally damaged. Life is about choices and this author clearly shows that every day that choice is yours to make.

Story
Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret - at least, that’s what she thinks.... But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well...she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth....

Fun read with just the right balance
Reviewed: 06-20-24
Really tired of the excess of sex, coarse language and violence? Then sit back and enjoy this fun read. Just the right balance of family, age-appropriate relationships and mystery with notes of Harry Potter, like a fine wine. Looking forward to reading book 2 in the series.

Story
August 1939: London is dismal under the weight of impending war with Germany as Hitler’s forces continue to sweep across Europe. Into this uncertain maelstrom steps Grace Bennett, young and ready for a fresh start in the bustling city streets she’s always dreamed of - and miles away from her troubled past in the countryside. With aspirations of working at a department store, Grace never imagined she’d wind up employed at Primrose Hill, an offbeat bookshop nestled in the heart of the city - after all, she’s never been much of a reader.

was concerned that another author would not be able to capture the character but Sophie did a great job. Of course the narrator was what made the character come to life. Kudos to the partnership. can't wait for the next one
