Story
Gwen Elsmere fell in love with Sebastian Kirkwood when she was 16, but a dead frog stole her chance to land the guy of her daydreams. Ten years later, when Gwen makes a desperate 911 call, Sebastian reenters her life as the first paramedic on the scene. Unfortunately, she’s smeared in blood, and he’s engaged to another woman. The awkward rescue is far from the passionate reunion she’d secretly hoped for. Still, Gwen’s brief transformation from postal worker to neighborhood hero has her reevaluating her cautious nature.

For lovers of CR this is a book you should read. It's a little north of 5 in the 1~10 Steamy Scale so if sex is a deal breaker this one probably isn't for you. But if you can handle some between the sheets action....really good. I mean great.

This entire series is what I recommend to folks looking for a Christmas gift for young readers (middle grade / 8~12 years old).
Quite sad but also hopeful.

Story
With their Safe Zone overrun by the undead, taking refuge in the mountains seems like the safest bet for Rose, Tom, and the other survivors. There's one catch, however—between last spring's human exodus and a neighboring group's stockpiles, there's no food left to scavenge. They know to be wary of people and zombies, but a new adversary proves itself just as relentless—hunger. Supplies are slim in the wilderness, and living off the land is easier said than done. As winter sets in, and their food dwindles to nothing, they discover how far they'll go to save the ones they love.

A Great Winged One will soon arise and cast his fearsome shadow upon the land. And just as Night slays Day, and Day slays Night, so also shall another Black Witch rise to meet him, her powers vast beyond imagining. So foretells the greatest prophecy of the Gardnerian mages. Carnissa Gardner, the last prophesied Black Witch, drove back the enemy forces and saved her people during the Realm War. Now a new evil is on the horizon, and her granddaughter, Elloren, is believed to be Carnissa's heir—but utterly devoid of power in a society that prizes magical ability above nearly all else.

Every genre has its rules. Authors like to stretch them and break them if they can.
A.M. Geever breaks more rules than anyone else...and she manages to get away with it.
This is one of the most interesting zombie / dystopian book I've read in a good long while.

A crime thriller with a strong thread of Native American lore (Ojibwe). I loved this book, loved the characters, loved everything about it except the ending. It just felt a little unsatisfying....like the story wasn't finished. I understand why it was that way, but I still wish for more.

Once upon a time, I was your average spunky redhead with the lamest employment history ever, a shaky relationship with my only family member, and no idea what I was doing with my life. Now, I'm a pseudo mythic with the best bartending job in the world, the most amazing (and hot) best friends I never knew I needed, and a guild of misfit magic-users who've become my extended family. And I'm about to lose it all. In my desperation to save Ezra, I stumbled into a web of ruthless deception - and seriously pissed off a sleeping hydra.
