Story
The prestigious Legionnaire Academy of Du Gok Bhong—an institution centuries old and one I never thought I'd qualify for, much less attend. Yet here I am, a Gold Bracket contender and 8th Tier Core Realm Cultivator, starship-bound to compete with the thousands of other tributes from the occupied colony worlds across the stars. For most, it's a death sentence. For me, it's my one chance to gain the imperial status I need to liberate the Earth and marry the girl I love.

Another banger

I was really happy with Book 1 and 2. Book 3 was great too. though it felt a bit unfulfilled at the end. Book 4 is going to go crazy. I really liked the additional characters and the drama unfolding back home. We'll, mostly; I'm still not sold on Kelsey. It felt like she was kind of shoe horned in for the sake of doing it. But Blue Rose more than made up for it. Great addition.
Keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to the next one!

Story
Salvatore's worst nightmare is taking on a demon, but if he wants to stay at Quest Academy, how will he prove to himself and everyone else that he can succeed? He's going to have to take on an entire floor of a demonic tower before the first semester comes to a close. That's the least of Sal's problems as he navigates through his first student mission away from the school. Sal is more comfortable at the crafting table, but he needs to survive in a reclaimed zone outside of the academy with the worst team of misfits you could possibly imagine.

I really loved the first book of this series. So many things happened, the main character met people, made a name for himself and ended up victorious in the end. The foreshadowing of Erica and how she could be a threat to him or an ally was great too. But this book was a slog to get through. 75% of it took place over 2 weeks of Sal just sitting in a chair and crafting. I love crafting in these types of books. But all Sal did for the majority of this book is craft. that's it. For me, it got old really quick. It picked up at the end, but still there really didn't seem to be much going on.
I still love the world that was created, and can only hope that the next installment is better 'crafted'.

Story
So it turns out overthrowing a 14,000-year-old cultivation empire is going to take longer than I expected, but I've made a great start. I've broken through to the Core Realm of my hidden Berserker art, established a new Terran Sect, and even discovered a tribe of lost Terrans out in the wild. There's a whole lot more at stake and even more people to save, but that's all the more reason to free the Earth from the empire's control. Not everyone is thrilled about my progression, however.

Story
When the cultivators came to Earth, they destroyed our entire civilization in a matter of hours. Armies fell, cities burned, and that was before the moon turned red and filled our world with monsters. Now, over a decade later, what's left of humanity slaves under the heels of our Qi-infused masters. The luckiest of us might even become one of them, they say—if we serve the Dynasty well enough and harness the power of Qi. But I want none of that. I'm sick of serving, and I want nothing to do with their world. Instead, I want them to pay for what they did to mine.

Story
Reidon Ward's first semester at the Galens Institute hasn't been without reward. In just over half a year he's gone from the weakest cadet at school to one of the strongest in his class, and there's no one left who would argue that his Device, Shido, isn't the most terrifying CAD they've ever laid eyes on. Still, Rei knows that his climb has barely begun, like he knows that the true fight is only just starting. After all… The Sectionals tournament has arrived. Rei, along with Aria, Viv, Catcher, and a couple unexpected squadmates, are about to face the first real battle of their careers.

There is a lot to say about this book. I really enjoyed the first one. A lot more than I thought I would. unfortunately this one just falls really flat. The stand out for me though, of characters that had me literally rolling my eyes every time I heard the name, was Viv. This character drives me crazy. She's incredibly sanctimonious, entitled, and consistently makes bad decisions. And everyone just supports her. There isn't any real conflict between the main characters. Other than Grant, and that was due to the drama of the last book. They all talk about their own personal issues, and support each in overly exaggerated weep fests. On top of that, the prospect of any future conflict is lightly spoiled by some very quick, but devastating opening chapter snippets. That give away huge swaths of information about the character's futures.
As for the main character, Rei. He was really a protagonist to get behind in the first book. This one he just seems like a passenger in his own story. Everyone talks about him and how much he's been through, then bullies him in the next sentence. And he just laughs it off and apologizes to Viv or Aria.
As for the story itself? It really needed to be oriented better. We start off on a date, with a ridiculous conflict between a few horny thugs and Rei. Then the epic fight and crescendo of the book happens 3 quarters through. Then we sit through another 4 or 5 hours of talking and everyone feeling sorry for themselves; particularly Viv, because she feels left behind, (Oh no!) can't have that, because (SPOILERS) she catches up at the end. no problem.
...Hope it's better next book, but the bar is low now, so maybe.

It's more of the same. The main character is becoming a bit insufferable, though. Barely any real interaction or interest in the other students. One training session with everyone, which ended badly, then on to more training and eating with the main female protagonist. Their day-to-day really started to get repetitive. and what's with all the hate for Rena?? Seemed a bit unwarranted when she made an effort to learn from him. Kind of a wasted opportunity to get to know one of the other characters. The story still manages to be interesting, so I hope there is more development in the next one.

I never believed in the whole “light at the end of the tunnel” folly where people, after having a near-death experience, would startle awake in a cold sweat exclaiming, “I saw the light!” But there I was, in this so-called “tunnel” facing a glaring light, when the last thing I remembered was sleeping in my room - the royal bed-chamber, as others called it. Had I died? If so, how? King Grey once benefited from unrivaled strength, wealth, and prestige in a world governed by martial ability but now finds himself reborn in a society dominated by magic.

But an invasion, conspiracy, and rise of a terrifying villain result in his untimely death. Then, Cairn reawakens. It's a decade earlier, and he's in his childhood body. But he remembers everything...there's much to accomplish. First, however, he'd really love to stop himself from dying.
