Wesleigh S. is one of my fav narrators. The guy who read for this book was thee most annoying sound when trying to do the woman's part, like scraping your nails on a chalkboard!!! He was ok when reading the man but.. Anyway rethink using him when he has to read dual roles, jus saying

You can't tell who is supposed to be talking, making it hard to follow. Same voice for 11 hours, blah blah bland!!! No punctuation unless it was in the wrong place. Story is good though

Mr. Herron needs much practice reading for an audience. I believe he has the potential so hopefully, he will get it together. Silliest book I've ever listened to!!!!

This is one of those stories that you yell at! Like so may situations were brought on by the silliness of the characters. Anyway I was left hanging to the 10th power so now I have to listen to the next book hopefully it will be better in terms of the story line and the characters have grown up a bit…

Good story but a little repetitive in a sense, I like long books when the content does not repeat itself so much. I did like the storyline because it's real and can give someone living through DV a good perspective, letting them know their story may be different yet still the same. As always the narrator Nicole Small gave an excellent performance, giving life to all characters and allowing the reader to feel as if someone different was reading each person's part. She is the high point of the book for me. If these authors know like I do they would choose Nicole small to read their books bringing it to a whole "nother" level!!!

The story was really good, filled with great writing. As an avid audiobook listener due to my inability to concentrate long enough to start and finish reading a book. Audiobooks opened up a whole new love for books. Unfortunately, this narrator pauses inappropriately, gives dramatic tone in the wrong places, and given a chance to read with proper flair to any given sentence, FAILS!!! I am not at all saying I could do it better but I am also not applying for a job as an audiobook narrator. Ms. Reign, Read the book first, if necessary read it ten times until you understand & connect with the story this may help in your ability to read and dramatize the book in the correct manner. Just saying...

The storyline is so important and had the book been read with a suitable narrator it could have produced the desired affect I'm sure the author wanted to exemplify. Every character sounded the same and the narrator didn't understand how to read the punctuation. There are Noah's and Olivia's that need a voice all over the world and the author gave a great example of how our foster care system is quite fractured and broken in many places. Thankfully there are good and great foster parents making a positive impact on children everywhere.

The storyline was tragic, however I could not understand the last part of each sentence as the narrator frequently dropped last words, the reading was the same from beginning to end no fluctuations in narration, I can typically understand other dialects this narrator just did not do this book justice, no disrespect but I just wanted to finish this book as I was sooo dissapointed with the narration.
