Proof that a Passionate Life has its Rewards
Reviewed: 09-15-23
Incredible narrative about a man that proves a passionate life has its rewards. This story pleads for a follow-up that includes more about Jada and the 3 kids. Balancing an ex-wife as an integral part of the family is so relevant to today’s blended family. Well done and thanks for motivating us to live our fullest life.

Riley’s historical fiction novels are a delight. The captivating stories allow me to embark on a frivolous journey at the end of my busy days and the intriguing characters provide my mind an escape from daily stresses. A must read for anyone who requires a momentary respite.

Story
If any artist could brag about his contribution to the pop culture canon, it’s Smokey Robinson. His career is filled with so many “he was there” moments it’s a wonder he doesn’t recall them with the swagger of a conquering hero: songwriting and singing as a teenager in Detroit; co-founding Motown Records with Berry Gordy; creating 26 Top 40 hits with his group The Miracles; helping to spark racial integration of popular music in the 1960s; discovering hitmakers like Diana Ross and the Supremes; penning tunes for a jaw-droppingly diverse group of artists.

Riveting stories coupled with sultry tunes... soooo good!

This was a great way to spend an evening. Learning about all the artists that Smokey penned lyrics for was amazing, and when Smokey sings ... he turned an ordinary night into a sensory escapade. Dim the lights for this quiet storm.
