The target audience for this book seems confusing to me at times. It feels like a pop sci book but instead pop philosophy. Having gotten a philosophy degree a decade ago I found it to be a wonderful refresher on the basics of moral philosophy with a good dash of modern humor and references to once of my all time favorite tv shows. At times a little simplistic and a little self aggrandizing, still a worthwhile read.

This book was truly a gift to read. It gives lots of profound insight into the details of how to fix our messed up educational system. And the best part, it never leaves you wondering, "Well that's great and all Paul, but how the hell do I implement this in my classroom?". The author/reader is above all else: passionate. And it comes across in both the written words and their reading. A great text to read over summer vacation to empower you to plan for next year with a few new ideas in your bag.

I picked up this book because I dabble in minimalism and often find myself frantically and hurridly cleaning my apartment so I can relax in it better. I will admit I did not implement to Marie's rules exactly, and she would argue I believe that I have not followed her system precisely. However, My boyfriend and I read this together and felt GREATLY inspired to deep clean our home. "It feels like we've finally moved into this space." "I feel so much more at ease at home now." "Why did we not do this earlier?" Were all said after the 3-day cleaning fest was complete. That was about two months ago and I swear on my grave that our home is still basically spotless. We both feel more at home and more fulfilled in our lives. Give it a read and do as much as you are comfortable with.

I would invite anyone who feels stuck in their life to read this book. While I didn’t buy into all the ideas here, it’s rare a self help book makes me stop reading and think for a solid 10 mins before I can keep going.

The reader had some really annoying/mean voices used for certain quotes. They seemed to be trying to mock people through it. Unnecessary . Otherwise an engaging reader though.
