As I lean towards feminist views, this book did not agree with me.

It really started to bother me how many times she said “daily round” I felt like she was coming from the 1950s with talk of needle point and keeping a clean house. Sorry, not impressed.

Story
In 2011, a 26-year-old libertarian programmer named Ross Ulbricht launched the ultimate free market: the Silk Road, a clandestine website hosted on the Dark Web where anyone could trade anything - drugs, hacking software, forged passports, counterfeit cash, poisons - free of the government's watchful eye. It wasn't long before the media got wind of the new website where anyone - not just teenagers and weed dealers but terrorists and black hat hackers - could buy and sell contraband detection-free.

This book is awesome. This performance was an abomination. Jarring voice changes left me utterly confused. Some parts were read by narrator only with him reading all voices. Some parts done with multiple actors. Whomever gave the OK to release this as is is an idiot.

I feel most books should be much shorter. Say the main point, give a couple supportive examples and move on. Instead, they are dragged out, bloated with example after unnecessary example. However, with this book, I really found the way the examples were laid out, it kept my interest. I really did learn s lot, and understand why this book is considered a 'must'.
As far as narration, yes it was a little annoying that it prompted you to change to the next the CD a bunch of times. If you can get past that, Lloyd James really does a phenomenal job. I hope i find more book in want to listen to that are narrated by him. Top notch performance. Seriously one of the best, and I've listened to hundreds.

Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

Worst Audiobook I've ever tried
Reviewed: 04-27-21
Could not get past 2 Chapters of this horrible book. I'm from New Jersey. I curse a lot. I don't trust people who do not curse. But this was way over the top for even me. I felt like the author was cursing to increase word count to meet a quota, inserting 'fucks' and 'shits' when there was zero reason to do so.
Also, the audio quality is like a poorly produced podcast. No wonder this piece of dogshit was free. Too bad too. Probably some useful info in there somewhere.
If you value your time, don't bother with this.

Get past the Southern accent, focus on content
Reviewed: 08-23-20
I really wish there was a version of someone else other than the author narrating. Hard for me to take advise from someone with a Southern accent (which is absurd, I know), but it's harder not to listen to the simple wisdom he writes about.
I've tried other love/marriage/relationship/help books. Pretty sure this is the one that is going to stick.
I also appreciate how short and to the point the book is. Most books could and should be this short. Time is my most valued asset.

Reviewed: 08-13-20
Narration was horrible. Sounded like a newsreel from the 30s. Disappointing because this book was hyped by many. Maybe if I was in marketing I would have enjoyed it more. This was the 1st audiobook (out of 60+) I felt I was wasting my time and not learning anything meaningful.

The content of the book was excellent. The narrator's style, however, was atrocious. If she had only read with a little personality, this easily would have been 5 stars. It was like listening to a secretary read a disclaimer.
