Story
Separated as a child from his family, Theo has always had a feeling that he’s made for something bigger than the suburban life he seems to be headed for. When a bully threatens his best friend, he can’t help but step in the way. The problem is that Theo’s just not much of a fighter. Bruised and broken, Theo wakes up to a massive headache and what appears to be floating game text inviting him to become a dragon. While ludicrous, no matter how often he rejects the prompt, it simply returns. Knowing that his life can’t get any worse, he finally accepts...

The fact that the MC was so annoyed with the stat up messages that he changed the frequency of them, and yet every chapter we have to listen to it is absurdly short sighted by the author. I like the characters the story kept me interested, but I seriously suggest increasing the play back speed by 10% to make up for the narrators slow reading. doing so even makes his voice sound a bit more youthful leading to more realistic sounding characters.

Story
Astral threads cut across the world, drawing Sam to them like a fire from the past. He discovers that his new race is intrinsically tied to the Void and the stars. Meanwhile, hints of the First War are returning to Aster Fall as the dimension trembles. Flaws are appearing more rapidly than ever, putting pressure on cities across the kingdom. In the shadows, dangerous artifacts related to Outsiders reveal a troubling connection. The relic also holds ancient secrets, some of them powerful enough to change the balance of power in the land.

This series became an instant favorite. I love the way it's performed with two people. It gives the story more immersion and a wider range of characters that seems unique. The story so far has been really well told and the world is vast with many things explained in time. I can't wait to see more!

Story
When it comes to action and adventure, every hero needs a good sidekick. Holmes has Watson, Batman has Robin, and Daniel has . . . Orrin. More like brothers than friends, they always have each other's backs. And as Daniel is the big, strong, handsome type, Orrin is more than happy to remain in his shadow at school, at parties, pretty much everywhere. Then things take a turn for the truly weird when a terrible accident catapults the pair into a world totally unlike their own, in which the rules of a role-playing game hold sway.

major editing issues with this book plz!
Reviewed: 02-29-24
I read the reviews and didn't hear it in the sample but it's so jarring to hear that mechanical voice saying all the skills in the middle of a characters dialog. they clearly tried to skip some work during editing. My guess is they used a program to swap it all because I do not understand why they would do that on purpose. I like the story and characters, but please do not do this with the 2nd book.

Story
You know you’re invisible when even your bullies forget to pick on you. That’s me, Bettina Blair, hidden in plain sight. No matter how hard I try, I just never fit in with my classmates. Now I know why. I’m a witch...apparently. One little demon attack and my parents confess their ugly secret…and ship me off to an elite academy of magic—for witches only. I just don't belong here, and Jackson Lancaster keeps reminding me every single chance he gets. This boy is the most insufferable, intolerable, unbearable, judgmental person to ever have the right to be that gorgeous.

lazy voice performance
Reviewed: 02-14-24
She's not bad but they didn't do this book series justice using only her to voice all the many different characters. There is very little difference from one to the next after her first 10 or so. All the inner thoughts of the characters are all the same and match the normal narrative. I had such a hard time figuring out who is saying what half the time. This series should have had at least 2 narrators with the amount of characters.

Story
House Gracefall wasn’t anything like what Derek had imagined it would be. Instead of rage and anger at the loss of one of their young masters, House Gracefall showed humility and even apologized. Despite one noble house exemplifying honor and nobility, another awaited to reinforce the negative stereotypes that Derek had been anticipating all along. Somehow, out of all that, Derek made a new friend, a new business partner, and learned some secrets, while Silvi got her first taste of the real world of cooking and loved it.

Multiple perspectives really irritated me as the fight scene at the end would get really good, and then switch perspectives and go back in time very annoying. The 1st two were definitely better, hopefully The next is gonna be good based on how this one built it up.

Fight, survive, adapt, and rely only on yourself. That is Derek’s creed and what's got him through the System Integration on Earth. Everything changed when the System came. Cute bunnies and beautiful butterflies became savage killing machines. Then the Invaders arrived with a single goal: to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. War has raged ever since. None of this mattered much to Derek, aside from making living a little more perilous.
