Story
Of all the things that could have landed in her yard, it had to be him. For most people, finding a half-naked superbeing in their yard might be a dream come true. Unfortunately for Gracie Castro, it’s the exact opposite. Especially when he’s grouchy, rude, and shows no signs of leaving anytime soon. But when a hero of mankind needs you, you do what you have to. Even if it compromises everything you know. And totally changes your life.

Surprise plot-love it!

Bought this summary unseen because MZ is one of my favorite authors and hello.. Connor Crais and Callie Dalton. Say no more. Then I saw the cape on the cover and thought “what have I committed 19 hours to now?” As usual, I wasn’t disappointed. I don’t know how she does it but the time goes by so fast and at the end, smiling, it seems unimaginable that it has been that long.
Loved it! A surprising and different plot, great characters, flirty and fun banter. Of course the “are you blind, girl?” that goes through your head every hour is great and infuriating but makes the ending so much sweeter. Everything I have come to expect and enjoy from Zapata.
For patient people who like the extra slow burn, I highly recommend.

We’ll written, love the narrator but….

HEA…check, we’ll written…check, entertaining narrator…check check, and then I felt my disappointment start revealing itself about half way through, I held up hope that I was wrong. Nope. Two POVs doesn’t usually have this ending…for a reason. It’s a terrible idea. You become invested in their story only to find out it’s a different story. details of the story were misleading and I found myself pushing through to finish it and be done. Out of the thousands of books I have read/listened (sad but true) there are only a handful I have to made myself hang in there for. This is one of them for me.
Again, we’ll written. I loved the narrator but not a fan of the story. Very frustrating when I realized I had already invested hours in this story only to have it turn into deceit filled soap opera. PG rated.

Another great addition to this series
Reviewed: 06-14-23
I love CJC’s books and I have liked the narrator in other stories but in this one she performed every character well except the main one. It was as if she was a robot and I had to keep coming back to the story which I knew I would like and did when I eventually finished. As this was a short story it shouldn’t have taken me a year, but it did. . I could only take the robot voice in parts. It was really frustrating, especially when every other voice she performed was so natural. I dont think her direction complimented her or the story this time. I believe it was a serious no emotion attitude she was going for but it didn’t translate well and that is a shame because the story was another great addition to this series and Caldwell is a talented narrator.

Well written, sweet, with strong woman and men who will all have you completely and utterly infuriated repeating to yourself…”why why why”… but those are the best stories to me. EVERY single book will have you shaking your head Every single one, but hang in there because it really does make for a sweeter HEA. This is the second time I have listen/read this series of books because the story and narration are just thar good.

It’s been a long time since a story touched my heart! And I go through at least 3 a week. So sweet! We’ll written and just…WOW. The performance was beyond good! Very impressed. My only critique is that this presentation has set the bar too high. There is no way my everyday single and dual narration can compare. I am kidding. I will still enjoy those too, 😀 Seriously, this was truly a fantastic performance and story!

She has two months in London to write the perfect romance novel - two months to prove that she can succeed as an author. Luckily, reserved Englishmen are not her cup of tea. Yet....

Reviewed: 02-10-22
I loved the Alex x 2. That was funny, and I had high hopes. didn’t care for this book. For the most part it was well written but it felt like I was missing something. I only felt the chemistry the first time they met. It was a long book and felt long. The heroine, Alex was a complete narcissist with very few redeeming qualities. And the other Alex, we’ll, I can’t see any self respecting guy putting up with such selfish and childish behavior. There were some funny points and I appreciated the well written and caring support characters. Their relationship with Alex(her) was the reason I kept going until the end. And I am glad I did. That chemistry was great!

Cute but not my favorite in this series
Reviewed: 12-31-21
I heard “epilogue” and was very confused. It just ended. No build up or major obstacle to overcome. It felt incomplete and not what I have come to expect from Nay. Jack was sweet, but also not what I expected. Both Aliza and Jack were a bit weak and timid characters. I was waiting for that bold and inner strength to reveal itself, but it didn’t happen. but. I guess they can’t all be strong alpha, bad ass types. Overall it was a sweet and well written story. Narrators did a great job. It just wasn’t my favorite of this series.

What a great story! It wasn’t super steamy, but it was super angsty. such a great read and while I am a fan of dual narrators, this single reader didn’t miss a beat, and I thought did a great job reading both sides. I have read a lot of books, listened to even more ( a lot = 1200+) and honestly I have come to a point where it takes a lot to impress me and I am impressed. I enjoyed the humor, the sarcasm and the HEA of course, but mostly; I just felt satisfied when finished. It wasn’t too long, it wasn’t too short, there were no lulls, it flowed nicely and that worked for me. Great job.

All the feels in a short and sexy package
Reviewed: 11-16-21
Most short stories are missing a piece or 100 pieces. They are cute and sexy but you leave the story wishing it had a little more detail of this or that. So I honestly have learned to stay away from them knowing I will be left wanting. I am a fan of Elle Kennedy so, I took the chance. I truly felt I had the whole story and was so wonderfully pleased at the end. I felt I had read a full length novel. It had all the feels including a teary moment. It was really good and restored my faith in shorter stories.

I thought this was a sweet, sassy and sexy read and paired perfectly with the narrator. Laughter out loud moments, moments that made you want to pull your hair out in frustration and parts that made you want to crawl in the book and handle the soon to be ex husband. Everything you want in a hea romance. Sexy too, but didn’t take over the story. Well done!
