Story
Lemon: I’m settling in at Grim Road in my role as vice president. The men test me, but it’s all in good fun. I think I enjoy it as much as they do. Then, out of nowhere, things go horribly sideways. I realize how much weaker I am physically than everyone else in the club. That weakness can be a horrible liability. Yeah. Things are going great. Until they aren’t. I may have bitten off more than I can chew…

Meet Lemon. She is smart, strong, a great VP, even tho quite young. She is quite the character addition to this series. However, I found all the vulgarity to be quite distracting to her story.
I was gifted an Audible version of this book from the author through Story Origin. The narration is just the best! Umi Markkanen can make any story interesting. She lays out all the f bombs and steamy talk with ease. 5 stars plus for her.

Unputdownable
Reviewed: 03-20-25
"Your next unputdownable thriller." is right. I couldn't put it down! It bounced between past and present with some chapters ending on little cliffhangers. The characters were interesting. The plot was complicated and mysterious.
The narrator was excellent. She presented the characters great. Her male voices were believable. I highly recommend this one.

Clara wants to get out of the spotlight now that she's away at college. But who does she fall for? The basketball star! I wanted to like this book by Clara's bestie is Becky. (And I'm Becky.) But it was just a little too slow burn for me. Plenty of spice, But not enough action. I did enjoy the dual POV.
I received a complimentary Audible version of this book from the author through Story Origin. The narrator did an ok job. I wish she had a better male voice. It was kind of confusing when Court was speaking with her high voice.
3.5 stars for both the story and the narrator.

I love this detective, Ian Skair. He's a down home every day ok guy. And, of course, his wee dog, Lottie is so cute. He solves this mystery piece by piece along with other questions that pop up along the way. Very entertaining.
I was gifted an Audible version of this book from the author through Story Origin. The narrator gets 3.5 stars. He presents the story well. But he has this strong Scottish accent and I just couldn't understand some of his words. Definitely my problem, not his.

I am sorry. I can't say I enjoyed this book. Most of the action took place off the page. Lots of phrases were repeated over and over again. Boring. I'm not sure what it is. A romance, I guess. Definitely not a police procedural. Nothing was by the book. Not really a mystery. It felt like it was written for kids, but had private couple moments. I hope this helps.
The narrator doesn't fit the book. In my opinion, he should be narrating a good western! The voice quality was very poor. Very tinny sounding. He did have good expression.

Personal note: Her real doctor told my granddaughter, " We don't eat vegetables because they taste good. We eat vegetables because they are good for us." Great advice.
