Great story, very likable MC's and secondary characters. The story gripped me from the beginning & never let up.
I loved the characters so much that I wish this was the beginning of a series.
Great narration makes the story truly come to life. This amazing coming-of-age story was heartfelt, tender & very believable. I highly recommend it to everyone of any age!

Story
Good things come to those who bake. At least that’s what the sign hanging in Mistledough, the bakery owned by the gorgeous and mysterious Nyall, claims. When reporter Aaron Newton is banished to Mistletoe Falls for the holidays and forced to provide fluffy and lighthearted stories without a hint of scandal, he finds himself drawn to both the bakery and the sweet taste of the man who runs it.

There was a whole lotta screeching going on, which was quite annoying. The character of Cassie comes across as very immature & high-strung, both of which I dislike in a lead character. Cassie behaves more like an angsty teen than a nature adult widow.
Apart from the screeching, I very much enjoyed the story.

It’s 1934. Former medium Dashiel Quicke travels the country debunking spiritualism and false mediums while struggling to stay ahead of his ex-business partner and lover who wants him back at any cost. During a demonstration at a college campus, Dashiel meets Hermann Goschalk, an Egyptologist who’s convinced that he has a genuine haunted artifact on his hands. Certain there is a rational explanation for whatever is going on with Hermann’s relics, Dashiel would rather skip town, but soon finds himself falling for Hermann.

I was hooked by the ties to ancient Egypt & the paranormal. I liked Herman and Dashell, I appreciate flawed characters. Loved the vengeful spirit and the focus on that part of the story.
I dud not care for the B plot with the ex, it dragged on for too long and took the focus off of the main paranormal story.
Great narration as always by Matt Haynes.

A very unfortunate change of narrator, the character voices are all wrong. You'd think a new narrator would try to keep the established voices as close as possible to the original narrstor.

Isle of Iona, 1927: Cast away on a remote locale, Jane’s latest assignment depends on concealing her identity and blending in at an occult gathering. Not even her fiancé, Redvers, can be too close as she uncovers the truth about Robert Nightingale, enigmatic leader of the Order of the Golden Dawn—a group made up of supernatural ceremonies, influential people, and an undefinable darkness. When a woman tries to escape to the mainland only to be found murdered in the moors, the shocking scene reveals it’s easier to join the Golden Dawn than it is to leave.

I must admit that this book was my least fave if the series. I did not care for the subject matter, and the mystery was not interesting. Having Jane and Redvers not working together on the mystery took the fun out of the story. The best part of previous books was their partnership.
I was so very disappointed that the marriage was tacked on at the end of this tedious tale. Almost as an unimportant afterthought. I hoped for more from their union. After waiting for them to finally come together it was a huge disappointment.

But when he finds a dead body floating in the swimming pool at one of his rentals, his own troubled past comes back to haunt him. Time is short. Quaid has less than three months to plan the wedding of his dreams. A wedding that happens to land two days before Christmas. Don’t be fooled. It is not a Christmas wedding—at least not if Quaid has anything to say about it. The wedding binder is fat and the list of things that need to be done is long, so when the department decides to implement a mandatory team-building Secret Santa event that will take up every one of Quaid’s available Saturdays, he is livid. Boy, am I lucky! Finding a living situation with a houseful of passionate scientists just before the holidays is ideal in every possible way. As the newest member of the Script Club, I feel it’s important to step up and tackle the to-do list my friends would prefer to avoid. Item one: Address the tutoring request from the neighborhood-hottie-slash-single-dad on the next block. I’ve got this! Or do I? Handsome, older, sporty gentlemen intimidate me. And Mr. McSwoony doesn’t like the holidays. This may be a daunting task.
