Really Loved and connected with this book I like how hard that the narrator's worked they really put effort into performance and they did a phenomenal job the only issue I have is how naive he made some of the characters and I get their younger kids but even young dumb kids will know when a certain Man is too evil to even try to fuck with

this story has alot of potential its unique and well thought of magical world but the characters need work .
it would be better if we could experience the world through more then one characters view point. I find myself having a hard time making myself like the main character. idk it feels like the writer got distracted towards the end of the book and was trying to force the ending.

Mankind has lorded over the land of Illian for a thousand years, building on the ruins left by the elves, as if it were their birthright. A thousand years is a long time for an immortal race to see the truth of things, a truth that has remained unsaid for a millennium - elves are superior. They are faster, stronger, and connected to the magical realm in a way that man could never grasp. Illian should belong to them.

lazy writing
Reviewed: 01-15-20
I was so disappointed in this Book. The Writer wrote in a very amateurish way. A lot of characters name rhymed and sounded to similar it's very confusing When 3 protagonist characters are in the same Room and are named Adele Adelin Or whatever, Then there was Fallon and Failen. I'm going to read the 2nd book hoping that the writer will mature enough to put some depth into its characters, learn how to write some witty dialogue and fill in the consistent plot holes that made up the 1st book. In conclusion the writer really just threw this together its lazy and through the entire thing I have found myself daydreaming and Not captivated by this book at all.

So often syfy riders will make a wonderful And thrilling world /story But be unable to bring the series to an End in a satisfying way Brent weeks accomplished the perfect ending without rushing or dragging out the story. I could not put the books down and cannot wait for the next series he writes. Brent Weeks is such a phenomenal writer I would read an entire encyclopedia if he wrote it. The narrator is great as well
I love Brandon Sanderson- George r r Martin- Robert Jordan and brent weeks is just as good as these authors if not better. I loved this series it's so much better than his night angel trilogy which was great but not as good as this series.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR READ THIS SERIES any reader that truly loves fantasy syfy will love these books

SO BAD
Reviewed: 10-16-19
I have never been more disappointed in a book series. And I'm the type of reader that I can enjoy just about any story I hardly ever leave a bad review like a series has to be really just awful for me to go to the trouble of writing a bad review. I hope that David a shura has another career to fall back on because writing is not his thing he had an entire chapter Where 3 Characters blab on and on about stupid emotions for each other that really had nothing to do with the story line except it could have been summed up in I like you you like me where all friends the end . And it wasn't only that chapter he goes on to have about a good 10 chapters that are just Wordy. The entire series is not very well written in the 1st place but this book is like David a shura took us krapp on some paper and turned it into His editor who is dumb deaf and blind apparently. I cannot stress enough that I am not a nit picky reader I never leave bag reviews only if the book is truly awful. David a shura the writer of this series has no respect for his readers he writes like he believes they are stupid and won't recognize parts of the story that don't match up or make sense or are Not following previous plot lines that the earlier books did. Do not waste your money on this book I don't care if you have an option to get this book for free do not waste your time money or effort trying to listen to this so disappointed. I did like the narrator that's all.
