This was not Poirot, not my usual mystery read. But I gave it a chance not to be a bloody, mean, foul-languaged story. It was not one of those things. It caught me, and I really didnt want to put it down!

liked the underlying bones, but the writer made the heroine wimpy and slightly petty, whiny in her head. to much interesting info was left out, to unnecessarily wordy where it didnt count, is this written by a younger person whos breaking in to writing? I read it but its not enough to go on with the series.

was ok. but not as elegant as the others. to much gratuitous descriptions of nasty things. Using those descriptions to fill out the story instead of bring more story to the story.

This new volume in the Bodies from the Library series features the work of 16 prolific authors who, like Christie and Crofts, saw their popularity soar during the golden age. Aside from novels, they all wrote short fiction - stories, serials and plays - and although most of them have been collected in books over the last 100 years, here are the ones that got away.
