Story
I only try on one of Nina’s pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it’s like. But she soon finds out...and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it’s far too late. But I reassure myself: The Winchesters don’t know who I really am. They don’t know what I’m capable of....

Not for me, to one sidedly mean. A rich woman picks on a maid for for most of the book, turning me off it before the end

Too one sided. could not get to the end without thinking this is stupid and no one would put up with most of what is in this book. it comes off like a cheap, house wife book

Story
Founded by the mysterious genius known as the Designer, the archipelago of Prospera lies hidden from the horrors of a deteriorating outside world. In this island paradise, Prospera’s lucky citizens enjoy long, fulfilling lives until the monitors embedded in their forearms, meant to measure their physical health and psychological well-being, fall below 10 percent. Then they retire themselves, embarking on a ferry ride to the island known as the Nursery, where their failing bodies are renewed, their memories are wiped clean, and they are readied to restart life afresh.

not what I had hoped for

I really enjoyed The Passage, but enjoyed the next 2 books less and less. This book reminds me of that, starts well, leaves you disappointed. Same formula, even kinda kills off the people you enjoy right at the end. Not my favorite way to end a book, pointlessly killing the character that appeals to you the most, same as the Passage

Trueman Rock is a daring young cowboy and rider. Six years ago he had to leave the cowtown of Wagontongue because of a history of gunfights and run-ins with bad hombres. The town and its people aren't what they used to be. He expects to find some of his enemies there to welcome him, but instead finds they're all dead. In their place is the Preston family.

Not Good
Reviewed: 03-08-22
This must have been an early Zane Grey book, and it shows. It's very cheesey and long, with nothing of his later works appeal. The narrator isn't very good either, disappointing

This is without doubt my favorite western book. There are few others that make you think of them as your day goes on like Shane.

Story
Sheriff Walt Longmire is enjoying a celebratory beer after a weapons certification at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy when a younger sheriff confronts him with a photograph of 25 armed men standing in front of a Challenger steam locomotive. It takes him back to when, fresh from the battlefields of Vietnam, then-deputy Walt accompanied his mentor Lucian to the annual Wyoming Sheriff's Association junket held on the excursion train known as the Western Star, which ran the length of Wyoming from Cheyenne to Evanston and back.
