This story is slow and at times boring. When I speed up narration and constantly look to see “how much longer?!” that implies I’m bored. But the narrators are excellent; they kept me from giving up. Parts of the ending were predictable.

This was well worth a point. Great characters and a unique story. Touching. The way Cherry talks about her life, loves and loss is very real.

Spoiler alert — mixing Navy Seals and special Ops with time travel became boring. The kick-ass action we’ve come to expect from Andrews and Wilson was replaced with long drawn out conversations about time travel, physics and failed missions. Plus the ending wasn’t an ending; clearly there’s a part two. I prefer a story with at least a little resolution. The narration by Ray Porter is as always brilliant.

Prior reviews lament that this story leans pro-vaccine, pro-mask, etc. But isn't that the way it was during Covid? Mr. King captures this period in our history well. There were (still are) differing views about the vaccine, masks and Covid. For most of us vaccines and masks aren't a political statement. Some of us wear masks to protect someone we love, not because we are Red or Blue. So please appreciate how well the story captures what was going on at the time.

It's a great story, and Holly is a great character. Justine Lupe did a fine job of narrating but it was hard to not want to hear Will Patton narrating; changing the voice of the Character between books was not ideal. Regardless, this was well worth the point and I highly recommend it.

We’re big fans of Brad Thor’s Scott Harvath series. But this book is ridiculous. An ancient ‘weapon’ is resurrected by the bad guys. Sounds reasonable. It’s not. The story lacks any direction and it’s more unrealistic than even the most ‘out there’ Harvath story. The last eleven minutes of the book were the only time we didn’t roll our eyes.

This is a 4 star book, read by a wonderful narrator, but sadly it was edited (or read?) in such a way that the sentences, chapters, and timelines ran into each other. There was inadequate pausing between sentences, making the book hard to follow. Imagine reading a book with no punctuation to indicate where one sentence ended and another began. This seemed to get worse as the book progressed and it made it hard to know that the timeline had changed. If there had been identifiable breaks between the end of one sentence and the beginning of the next, or the end of a paragraph or chapter, it would have made it a much more enjoyable listen. Great writing - the author captured the early days of the Covid pandemic well.

This audiobook is like listening to a play. There are many different narrators which was both good and bad. Some of the accents were terrible and hard to understand. Add in occasional background noise to simulate traffic, etc. and the narration was at times hard to follow. Mary Louise Parker was the best narrator

I usually love anything narrated by Eduardo Ballerini. However this kind of story really didn’t lend itself to his somewhat breathy style of narration.

An incredibly narrated story. Heartbreaking and hopeful. A Tragically accurate story about lives ruined by Oxy and other prescription drugs, and a bleak look into the world of foster care. But the hopefulness and the ending are great. I’m so glad I listened to this book. Exceptional narration.
