Story
For centuries in Europe, innocent men and women were murdered for the imaginary crime of witchcraft. This was a mass delusion and moral panic, driven by pious superstition and a deadly commitment to religious conformity. In Witch: A Tale of Terror, best-selling author Sam Harris introduces and reads from Charles Mackay's beloved book, Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds.

interesting history
Reviewed: 08-23-24
I like that this was taken from a larger study on mass hysteria. It made it easier to digest and was very fascinating and sad that humanity can do such horrible things when they become unreasonable and hysterical.
Sometimes I enjoy Sam Harris's dry tone, but others may not. I think it was suited for this somber history.

Story
Deep down here by the dark water lived old Gollum, a small slimy creature. I don’t know where he came from, nor who or what he was. He was Gollum—as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face. He had a little boat, and he rowed about quite quietly on the lake; for lake it was, wide and deep and deadly cold.

Marc does a great job as always. The story was good, just not great. It was fun to learn about Thrawn's backstory. It wasn't as compelling as the first book though.

Very eye opening. Being a white person I could not see the racism that caused so much injustice in this world and in this country. I now see color and understand the need to actively be Antiracist. I loved how much this book taught me about what it was like for Ibram and other people of color growing up. I am grateful for the personal stories and thoughts he shared.

this was a pleasure to listen to. at first all I felt was guilt that I wasn't reading more to my kids. but I decided that I was fine and could start where I am and to not give myself a hard time. Chapter 9 was ever better in calming my fears cause that is where the author gives the reader advice and encouragement for reading to your kids no matter how old they are.

On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

I love what Marie has written about tidying! she has such a way of thinking that is broader and more open minded than westerner's views. I love that she brings our possessions and home to life helping us see things differently and with a greater appreciation.
I have truly experienced that "sweet spot" when folding, and inspiration about where to store certain items in my house. I have gained a greater appreciation for what brings me joy. if you're looking for a way to tidy your home and life read this book with an open mind and heart and you will find the strength to do what may seem impossible.
