Story
It’s a beautiful day in Newport, Rhode Island, when Phoebe Stone arrives at the grand Cornwall Inn wearing a green dress and gold heels, not a bag in sight, alone. She's immediately mistaken by everyone in the lobby for one of the wedding people, but she’s actually the only guest at the Cornwall who isn’t here for the big event. Phoebe is here because she’s dreamed of coming for years—she hoped to shuck oysters and take sunset sails with her husband, only now she’s here without him, at rock bottom, and determined to have one last decadent splurge on herself.

Totally worth it

The first few hours were “page turners”. It was a story that pulled you in to it. There is definitely a lull in the second half. I found that I could take or leave the story. The ending pulls it together and leaves the listener totally engaged and pondering life.

I am really enjoying the Fens series. Hunted on the Fens started off really well. As the story progressed I got much less interested I. The story line. I liked the group as a whole but the plot left me a bit dry

True, it is a children’s story. But isn’t a great story for mental health and overcoming obstacles? Was it love, nature, faith or magic? Maybe all 4?

Sarah feels unmoored following her boyfriend’s sudden and tragic death. Their love story was cut short after just two sweet months together, and now all Sarah can think about are the moments she and Alex should be sharing. Sarah distracts herself by consoling Ash—her best friend and Alex’s sister—and by rehearsing for the school play and working at her aunt’s café. But none of this is as comforting as her nightly talks with Jake.

The good: the story unraveled nicely. Some nice guessing and predicting for the listener along the way. Everything came together in the end. No missing pieces or unanswered questions.
The rest: this is story concentrated a lot on the prison break and being chased down by the authorities. This is not what I usually read. I put it down a few times. I never not finish a book. I know, weird right? The last hour was good enough to make the journey worth it. Being from urban NJ, I really didn’t appreciate some of the narrators accents for some of the tougher minor characters. Lol
