Story

Story
As management reels from the unexpected conclusion of the seventh level, the surviving crawlers stumble onto the eighth and find themselves scattered. It’s a map based on Earth’s final days before the collapse, where ethereal, intangible ghosts of humanity go about their lives, oblivious of the impending doom. Living amongst these ghosts are monsters based in Earth lore. “Legendary” creatures tied to the geographical location they inhabit. Each team of crawlers is given a task: Find and capture six of these beasts.

Story
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Makes you think
Reviewed: 07-20-23
A little bit predictable in the broad sense of what's ultimately thing to happen, but interesting none the less, makes you think about what really matters (and how that's so subjective and actually difficult to determine), and is a good read. I think the author could turn this into a series or genre of sorts, following different people with different backgrounds as they show through their existential crisis.

Stanley Tucci grew up in an Italian American family that spent every night around the kitchen table. He shared the magic of those meals with us in The Tucci Cookbook and The Tucci Table, and now he takes us beyond the savory recipes and into the compelling stories behind them. Taste is a reflection on the intersection of food and life, filled with anecdotes about his growing up in Westchester, New York.

There are not many celebrities that I would be excited or comfortable to sit and have a meal with, but after reading this I would happily break bread with Mr. Tucci. I admit... there would be a sick temptation to make eye contact and feign to cut a bit of Spaghetti. 😁 Please don't hate me Stanley...

The inside history of Marvel was a good listen. The delivery and narration of the history was pretty dry, so it took some effort to stick with it. That being said, I'm glad I did. It amazes me how harsh and cutthroat an industry of creators and entertainment is... for me it highlights that all jobs can suck, and when they do it's usually some rich asshats who made no legitimate contribution that are the reason it's so terrible. Thanks so much to all the artists and writers who suffered this industry to keep me and millions of others entertained for decades!

Story
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Had no idea how tough Trevor's childhood was
Reviewed: 09-07-18
The story was very interesting and certainly increases my understanding and appreciation of Trevor. He was no saint but who among us really would've been given the same circumstances. I can hardly believe he pulled out of that mess to be so successful. Honestly my only critique of the book would be it seems to kind of gloss over how that all happened but I still recommend the listen.
