Story
On the last day of normality in Mackinaw, Illinois, Oliver McCallister thinks his worst problem is figuring out how to come clean to his wife about the secret he’s been keeping from her. Zoe McCallister thinks her worst problem is squeezing in an errand at the courthouse before another long day of nursing classes—and worrying about whatever Oliver is hiding from her.

I found myself wondering what this book was about for maybe the first 19 chapters. after that it began to spell itself out, and then was shortly over.
narrator was fine and story was written probably better than I could have written, but I expected more as I landed on this as being similar to WWZ

Great book, awful narrator

I've read the book many times and have several of the other audiobooks. this one in particular has such terrible narrator I had to stop listening, which is rare for me personally.
I would advise avoiding this version.

Story
At the request (well, it wasn't really a request) of his employers, Augusten lands in rehab, where his dreams of group therapy with Robert Downey Jr. are immediately dashed by grim reality of fluorescent lighting and paper hospital slippers. When Augusten is forced to examine himself, he finds himself in the worst trouble of all. Because when his thirty days are up, he has to return to his same drunken Manhattan life - and live it sober. Dry is the story of love, loss, and Starbucks as a Higher Power

I read a lot of addiction memoirs and this book was mentioned within one I recently finished so I came into it expecting much more of a focus on the path to or from recovery. overall not a terrible story, just wasn't what I expected.

Wouldn't say this is a bad book, but it's nothing new or outside of what you may read in the big book or hear at any book meeting.

I found it extremely interesting and well done! My only comment is that the character voices are often so similar. Otherwise the story is great and all comes together very well as it unfolds. Worth the credit.
