Story
Buddhist monk Wayan Bagus lost his island of solitude and wants to get it back. The island was about 200 miles northeast of Samoa. It had a mountain, beaches, a rainforest, and a volcano. And now it's gone. Poof! Vanished without a trace. Brilliant and boyishly charming Emerson Knight likes nothing better than solving an unsolvable, improbable mystery. And finding a missing island is better than Christmas morning in the Knight household.

A Little Long, but Enjoyable

love the detail and research that goes into her books, but sometimes it can become a little overkill. some characters seem a little overdeveloped while others not developed enough.

From Janet Evanovich, author of the best selling Stephanie Plum bounty hunter series, comes this romantic adventure tale written in the Plum tradition, teeming with fast-paced action, dysfunctional loveable characters, steamy sex, suspense, and lots of laughs.

Story
America's favorite bounty hunter is back behind the wheel in her fifth hilarious, high-octane thriller. Out of bail skippers and rent money, Stephanie Plum strikes out on her own. Okay, so a scumball blows himself to bits on her first day of policing a crack house, and the sheik she was chauffeuring steals the limo. But hey, nobody's perfect.

Please bring C.J. Critt back as narrator!
Reviewed: 01-25-21
The story was ok...seems like Janet has become a formula writer. It seems like in every story Stephanie's car will ow up or meet some type of demise. My real struggle was with the narration. C.J. Critt has become the voice of Stephanie Plum for me, and this new lady just wasn't doing it for me. There was no character impersonation, she ran through periods and mispronounced Grandma Mazer... if changing narrators, can we at least keep pacing and pronunciation consistent? I found it very difficult to listen to this narrator.

Story
Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is back. The brassy babe in the powder blue Buick has been given the unpopular task of finding Mo Bedemier, Trenton's most beloved citizen, arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, gone no-show for his court appearance. Once again, the entire One for the Money crew is in action, searching for Mo, tripping down a trail littered with dead drug dealers, leading Stephanie to suspect Mo may be in over his head.

Predictable and Trite
Reviewed: 04-29-20
this is now my third Stephanie plum novel and it feels like a formula... assailants always accosting her in her home, something happens to a car, and the hamster, Rex, comes within an inch of a tragic ending, only to be spared in the end. Stephanie needs to move, the action needs to be taken off-site and for goodness sake, either kill the rat or leave him be! glad audible has a return policy because I've already downloaded the next 2-3 books in the series, but they will be going back. the only thing that changes are the bad guys and the crimes they commit. the protagonist is flat. in three books, I haven't really seen her grow or evolve. need more fr my dramady crime story.

Story
After a political scandal, fledgling lobbyist Dempsey Jo Killebrew is left almost broke, unemployed, and homeless. She reluctantly accepts to refurbish Birdsong, the old family place in Guthrie, Georgia. But, oh, is Dempsey in for a surprise. "Bird Droppings" would more aptly describe the moldering Pepto Bismol - pink dump. There's also a murderously grumpy old lady who has claimed squatter's rights and isn't moving out. Ever.

Wanted more closure to the story. What happened to Dempsey? Did she marry Berryhill? Guess that's what makes a great story... you don't want it to end.

enjoyed the plotline of the book. wish Jensen had done more to develop additional characters. her rendering of the Amish was rather flat, but I love the twist at the end.
