Story
Kate Bowler is a professor at Duke Divinity School with a modest Christian upbringing, but she specializes in the study of the prosperity gospel, a creed that sees fortune as a blessing from God and misfortune as a mark of God's disapproval. At 35, everything in her life seems to point toward "blessing". She is thriving in her job, married to her high school sweetheart, and loves life with her newborn son. Then she is diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer.

The book was fine but it was just her journal entries of how deplorable cancer is ruining her life. it ruins everyone's life, spoken by a survivor. it had no depth about how "Everything Happens for a Reason" No substance biblically or evern from one of the several preachers she wrote of. I've bought over a thousand books on Audible over the past 9 years and it really disappointss me when I get bamboozledly scammed by the author and Audible

Story
Labeled a silent epidemic by a growing number of therapists and researchers, estrangement is one of the most disorienting and painful experiences of a parent's life. Popular opinion typically tells a one-sided story of parents who got what they deserved or overly entitled adult children who wrongly blame their parents. However, the reasons for estrangement are far more complex and varied.

I found the relief with compassion that this psychologist had for estranged parents so kind and understanding. Even though I do love the author to read the book, the narrator was wonderful and gentle

Shut Up, Stop Whining, and Get a Life is a Wall Street Journal number-one best seller that isn't afraid to tell you it's time to change. From motivational speaker Larry Winget, also known as "The Pit-bull of Personal Development" and "The World's Only Irritational Speaker", comes a not-so-typical self-help book. Winget's hilarious and in-your-face observations about the sometimes ugly truth of life will kick you in the butt and encourage you to change your life for the better.

He is good at being a diamond in the rough. He also doesn't really painfully remember how horrible poverty is when working so hard at becoming more of who you are. His last few chapters of every book I have read get really weak. He just fills up the pages of writing to make his book longer. I paid for every book written by him. I like his no nonsense approach.

Story
A gentle reminder for the days you feel light in this world, and for the days in which the sun rises a little slower. A gentle reminder for when your heart is full of hope and for when you are learning how to heal it. A gentle reminder for when you finally begin to trust in the goodness and for when you need the kind of words that hug your broken pieces back together. A gentle reminder for when growth hangs heavy in the air, for when you need to tuck your strength into your bones just to make it to tomorrow.

However, this book was a complete waste of time and money. it was deficient in substance and lacked any wisdom. Basically, it was a pity party in a book telling the reader, "You deserve better than this at the end of the day"

Story
Up to 40% of people consider themselves shy. You might say you're introverted or awkward, or that you're fine around friends but just can't speak up in a meeting or at a party. Maybe you're usually confident but have recently moved or started a new job, only to feel isolated and unsure. If you get nervous in social situations - meeting your partner's friends, public speaking, standing awkwardly in the elevator with your boss - you've probably been told, "Just be yourself!" But that's easier said than done - especially if you're prone to social anxiety.

Jonathan Haidt skillfully combines two genres-philosophical wisdom and scientific research-delighting the listener with surprising insights. Some positive ways to think about happiness
Reviewed: 04-08-22
Exceptional he worked a lot on all of the studies. These books impress me that they can teach so much. I wouldn't necessarily say I agreed with everything he believes but it is important to hear and truly understand others views. People' want desperately to know true happiness but really all of these thousands of books are stretching the meaning of well being into the word happiness. I think for now well being, optimism and positive relationships are how we feel most happy. Realizing these 3 words encompass a lot of meaning
