Story
Every generation, a journalist has looked deep into the heart of the nuclear military establishment: the technologies, the safeguards, the plans, and the risks. These investigations are vital to how we understand the world we really live in—where one nuclear missile will beget one in return, and where the choreography of the world’s end requires massive decisions made on seconds’ notice with information that is only as good as the intelligence we have. Pulitzer Prize finalist Annie Jacobsen’s Nuclear War: A Scenario explores this ticking-clock scenario.

Definitely worth reading

it's a well researched book, but some of it's information is outdated by several decades, but I would still consider it to be mostly accurate and probably the likely outcome of a global nuclear war.

Story
Welcome to the age of behavioral addiction - an age in which half of the American population is addicted to at least one behavior. We obsess over our emails, Instagram likes, and Facebook feeds; we binge on TV episodes and YouTube videos; we work longer hours each year; and we spend an average of three hours each day using our smartphones. Half of us would rather suffer a broken bone than a broken phone, and Millennial kids spend so much time in front of screens that they struggle to interact with real, live humans.

Story
An international conspiracy among powerful bankers, business leaders, and government officials; closed-door meetings in the Swiss Alps; and calls for a radical transformation of every society on earth - the Great Reset sounds like it is one henchman-with-an-eyepatch away from being the plot for the next James Bond movie. But The Great Reset is not a work of fiction. It is a highly influential movement among the world’s elite to “reset” the global economy using banks, government programs, and environmental, social, and governance metrics.

Very good, ......BUT....

Good book about gold. I do agree with a lot of his stances on precious metals, especially gold. I also like his references on using the stock market to diversify in your gold investments ..... BUT ...... don't be fooled, he is also promoting his own companies hoping that you'll invest in them. the book is a good guide but the last part is with out a doubt a promotion for getting people to invest in companies that he is a large holder or director in.

Very well researched book that is eye opening to a lot of the failed policies that have lead to many of the major problems we see throughout the US.
Written by a self-titled progressive Democrat who as an environmentalist wanted to solve the homeless, drug, crime and pollution problems that plague cities like L.A., San Francisco, and Seattle. His research ended up leading him to the conclusion that progressive policies are actually the problem. From decrimininalizing drug use and minor theft to closing metal hospitals, defunding police, housing first policies, and welfare programs are to blame for the worsening conditions in major american cities.

The book was begun in 1939, but with the advent of World War II, Haffner had set it aside. His family made the decision to publish it, and the book became a best seller in Germany in 2002. Spanning the period from 1907 to 1933, it offers a unique perspective on how the average educated German grappled with the rise of Hitler.
