Story
Arianna Ward doesn't have a lot to look forward to in life, least of all freedom. She's spent a year being tortured and bitten as a vampire's pet, and when she's sold to a new master on her 19th birthday, she's sure she's in for another awful year ahead. But her new master is different. His name is Ren. He has secrets—and plans. He wants to make a fair trade with Arianna, and the offer on the table is her freedom. Ren wants her to complete one task for him, and then she can walk away from the horrors of the supernatural world forever.

I loved this fantasy book! If you like vampire stories you’ll love it. While it does mention dark themes it’s not really “on-screen”. Which I liked.
I wasn’t able to turn it off the story was so good. And the narrator Ali was the perfect choice for this book. She did an excellent job narrating. I’ll be looking into more titles by both the author and narrator.
I was gifted this book but these are my honest thoughts and feelings!!

Story
After Keelynn witnesses her sister's murder at the hands of the legendary Gancanagh, an immortal creature who seduces women and kills them with a cursed kiss, she realizes there’s nothing she wouldn't do to get her back. With the help of a vengeful witch, she’s given everything she needs to resurrect the person she loves most. Tadhg, a devilishly handsome half-fae who has no patience for high society—or propriety—would rather spend his time in the company of loose women and dark creatures than help a human kill one of his own. Until Keelynn makes him an offer he can’t refuse.

I enjoyed this book and the performance of the narrators so much that I listened to the whole book with in a couple of days!
When I first started listening to this book I thought it was a historical romance and was surprised that it was also a fantasy (fantasy is my favorite genre). I loved every minute! If you like historical romance and fantasy you will like this book. Not to mention it’s preformed by one of my favorite narrators Zura Johnson. I haven’t listened to a book read by her that I didn’t like. She adds so much life to the story. I was also impressed with Zachary Johnson’s performance. Loved his voice for the male characters. And I look forward to reading/listening to more books by Jenny Hickman.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a review. But these are my honest opinions and would definitely recommend this to my family and friends.
If you are thinking of purchasing this book, do it you’ll be happy you did.

Story
It should be easy to step into the position her mother left for her, since everyone thought she died the day her kingdom was destroyed. But staying hidden - remaining 'nobody' - is simpler than accepting her dark past, enduring her harrowing fate, and claiming her broken crown. This series is a detailed world full of legends and myths given flesh, and a princess chosen to save them all.
