Story
Wren is troubled. Ever since she performed the blood spell on Prince Ansel, her magic has become unruly. Worse, the spell created a link between Wren and the very man she’s trying to forget: Icy King Alarik of Gevra. A curse is eating away at both of them. To fix it they must journey to the northern mountains—under the watchful guard of Captain Tor Iversen—to consult with the Healer on High.

It felt a little rushed
Reviewed: 07-03-24
Finally made it to the end of this series and I have to say that i’m a little disappointed. I felt a lot of potential with the first book and then the second book hooked me even more than the first, but this book was a little underwhelming. I can’t say much without spoiling it, but the way the war ended felt forced and too easy. Then, the chapters after that felt a little lifeless and rushed. Alaric’s mother wasn’t even mentioned. On the other hand, I’m happy with how the relationships between the characters turned out. I just wish it had been a little slower and more detailed.

It just got better 😮
Reviewed: 05-16-23
Ok, so I’m a little annoyed and a little happy that I finished this so quick. This is even better than the last! I mean, where do I even start? Old characters (some hated) were fleshed out and hard not to love, new characters were introduced, lands were discovered, prophecies were told, lives were lost, romance brewed, and I could go on. I hope only one thing for the next book. That Tor develops some character. For now, I feel no connection to him as a reader. There isn’t much I feel we know about him personally. We get to know the king of Gevrah better than we get to know Tor 😂 which is a little disappointing seeing how the last book ended, but, I understand that something had to be sacrificed especially for the new love interest. Overall, I preordered this book hoping that I would divulge into fresh concepts and inthralling themes and I got exactly what I wanted. Again, Webber and Doyle, you have left me on the edge of my seat, patiently (impatiently) waiting for the next installment. ♥ï¸?

Story
Wren Greenrock has always known that one day she’d steal her sister’s place on the throne. Trained from birth to return to the palace and avenge her parents’ murder, she’ll do anything to become queen and protect the community of witches who raised her. Or she would, if only a certain guard wasn’t quite so distractingly attractive, and if her reckless magic would stop causing trouble. . . .

Excitement In Every Chapter
Reviewed: 11-05-22
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Every chapter was quick and the alternating points of view kept me on the edge of my seat, guessing as to what would happen between Rose and Wren. Its enchanting terms brought me into the story. It was filled with new ideas about the witching world. The romances were enjoyable and each character that was introduced was genuinely interesting ( whether they were evil or not). I really felt invested in the lives of these characters 😄. I can’t wait for the next book! To anyone who has an addiction with “The School for Good and Evil” this is the book for you!

In Ravka, just because you avoid one trap, it doesn't mean you'll escape the next. This story is a companion folk tale to Leigh Bardugo's upcoming book, Siege and Storm, the second book in the Grisha Trilogy.

DON’T STOP!!!!
Reviewed: 05-24-22
Ok, look, There’s a part that will make you cringe like crazy and want to stop the book entirely. DON’T STOP PLEASE!!! They justify it very well. But… I give the story a three out of five because OH MY GOSH they pull a “I have to kill a person I’m close to because they asked me to 🥺” And then of course the main character has to kill him. And then of course they pulled the epic “AND THEN HE CAME BACK TO LIFE” But overall it’s a really solid book.

AMAZING a few timeline problems
Reviewed: 04-07-22
This book was very surprisingly enthralling! I loved how they tied all the things in with the death of queen oasis! There was a problem with the timeline though. One dragon year is supposed to be 7 human years but baby sky has the intelligence of a one or two year old even though only two human years have past. Also if 7 human years is 1 dragon year and Heath and Stone fought the dragon nineteen years ago in dragon time Uncle Stone should be 160 years old.
