Stuck in a loop

This book was so close to being what I wanted out of it. The story had potential to end powerfully about 3 or 4 times but it just droned on a bit too much for me. An already barely likable main character become borderline insufferable by the last two chapters as she had the same epiphany every four sentences.

Story
Meet Brooke: a bisexual Bridget Jones, a millennial Meg Ryan, a girl standing in front of a boy asking him—wait, it doesn’t have to be a boy? For Brooke, ‘The One’ could be anyone. As long as it’s the type of (actually highly problematic) movie love she’s watched on repeat since she was a little girl. Brooke writes algorithms for a dating app, which is odd given what a hopeless romantic she is.

Not a comedy, a political statement. Awful!

Just what I needed

As a bisexual woman myself, I often find it hard to see myself represented in media in an authentic way. This book was laugh out loud funny while being relatable and at times even touching! Plus the steamy bits were lovely hahaha
