Story
A beautiful, ambitious angel stands on a mountaintop, surveying the world and its little inhabitants below. He smiles because soon, the last of humanity who survived the great flood will meet its end, too. And he should know. He's going to play a big part in it. Our angel usually doesn't get to do fieldwork, and if he does well, he's certain he'll get a big promotion.

A fun series that I'm going to relisten/reread
Reviewed: 08-31-17
Would you consider the audio edition of The Everything Box to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print version, but this book is a solid listen.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Everything Box?
I'm not sure I have a specific moment - the overall arc of the story works well and sets up the next book. I don't have a particular issue with cliffhangers at the start of a series but this book stands alone okay if you're only in it for the one read.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I'm all about satire and urban fantasy novels and this book hit the spot that I've only really found from a couple of other authors (Pratchett, Holt, Adams). It's got an original voice which I like.
Any additional comments?
I'd known about Sandman Slim but not read them so I didn't come into this book with any specific ideas about the author's approach. It was a solid first in the series book for me (read: the pacing isn't always perfect but the slower spots didn't drag enough for me to lose interest) and I'm definitely coming out of it wanting the next one in the series.

A full-cast BBC Radio 4 dramatisation of Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman’s celebrated apocalyptic comic novel, with bonus length episodes and outtakes. According to the Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday in fact. Just after Any Answers on Radio 4….Events have been set in motion to bring about the End of Days. The armies of Good and Evil are gathering and making their way towards the sleepy English village of Lower Tadfield.

I've been a fan of Good Omens for many years and am glad to have such a great performance of this book.. My only complaint (if there can be one) is on the picky point of how to translate the footnotes into dialogue. I think the adaptors made a valiant effort here but they either might have done either a lot more or just left them out entirely. This is my only complaint though - the performances match what I've always heard in my head, even Adam and the Them. Well worth a listen.

Story
Though the Greek and Roman crewmembers of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen - all of them - and they're stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood - the blood of Olympus - in order to wake.

I've really enjoyed this series. It was hard getting used to a new narrator in Book 4 partly because he clearly had trouble finding his voices for some of the characters but he got into his stride in this book.
