Story
Miss Ailsa Brimley is in a quandary. She's received a peculiar letter from Mrs. Stella Rode, saying that she fears her husband - an assistant master at Carne School - is trying to kill her. Reluctant to go to the police, Miss Brimley calls upon her old wartime colleague, George Smiley. Unfortunately, it's too late. Mrs. Rode has just been murdered. As Smiley takes up the investigation, he realizes that in life - as in espionage - nothing is quite what it appears.

Insight into Smiley

This book was necessary for the development of the Smiley character. I could think of much worse things than hanging out with Smiley for a few hours

Good bios
Reviewed: 05-23-22
These books can be pretty corny with all the magic and stuff. The author seems to genuinely believe in magic or is at least open to it which is keep me of a drag, but it’s not too overt. I like the bios and bought it for that. I learned some things about some of these people

Story
On one side of the argument is a collection of godless academics with doctorates from the finest universities in England, France, and the United States. On the other is Irrational Atheist author Vox Day, armed with nothing more than historical and statistical facts. Presenting a compelling argument (but not for the side one might expect), Day strips away the pseudo-scientific pretentions of New Atheism with his intelligent application of logic, history, military science, political economy, and well-documented research.

This book was a waste of my time and a credit.

This dude is a bigot. He claims that Christians own morality and Atheists are moral parasites. His exact words. He then ticks off a bunch of nonsense arguments against Christianity. Of course, he doesn't use the clincher. That we know that all life came from a common ancestor and that humans and their souls weren't poofed into existence. There is zero proof of a soul and afterlife. If humans have souls and go to an afterlife, why not all life? Because it doesn't and they don't. He claims to be pro-science but he denies the cornerstone of Biology. Yes, he is an Evolution Denier. And a hypocrite.
