Story
Sasha Pierce hasn’t had a single dream since she was a child...until she accepts a substitute teaching position in the charmingly witchy village of Old Middleton. Her first dream in twenty-five years ought to be enchanting, but her wonder quickly turns to shock when she realizes that it’s not a dream at all, but an entirely different sort of magic. Catapulted through an ancient portal into the fairytale kingdom of Between, Sasha’s astonishment is swiftly upgraded to panic when she accidentally performs a supposedly impossible feat and is declared the True Queen of Between.

I enjoyed the first Parr not the second...

The book was not a bad story but I couldn't get into or even pay attention to the second narrator! The book is basically told twice one the female voice and again in the male voice his & her versions , thoughts & feelings which would be great mixed together in each chapter or something but not hearing the same incidents in one half & then again to boot it had no ending, not even a finished scenario started out good ended badly. unless you want to hear x amount of scenes with no conclusion I would not recommend this book

I loved the story and narration. I also enjoyed her source information included at the end. I did find differences in the usual telling of this story but not far off or far fetched and is explained at the end.

Story
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

Scotland, 1026 - Gruoch, descendant of the line of MacAlpin, should have been born into a life of ease. But fate is fickle. Empaths Beware!!
Reviewed: 02-28-20
This book is on the dark side which done in another way wouldn't bother me but the author has you put yourself in a mothers shoes who's toddler son has beaten to death by his father! Even that would be ok if the narrator didn't read it in such a hypnotic voice! As a Certified Hypnotherapist & empath my Subconscious is very open and it really got to me! Hypnosis as a tool for therapy is great but not so much in a setting that your child is beaten to death! Don't get me wrong we all go into a light trance state when reading, watching TV, driving but this was too much for me!!
