Still priceless 30+ years later!

I read this book way back when it had been recently published as an angst-filled teenager trying to figure out this thing called ‘life’ — and listening to it now I realize how much DID stick with me all these years and how much I should have made this mandatory reading every other year (because of the valuable lessons I forgot).
The way it just … flows, makes it all the more enjoyable.
Definitely one of my all time favorite books.
Many thanks RR!

Story
One small handwritten letter, sent from a dark, remote corner of the planet and lost in the system for 60 years, is about to change the entire human race. Outside Denver, Colorado, Joe Rickards stands over a small aircraft wreckage, studying burnt remains still smoldering in a field of freshly fallen snow. He's an investigator for the NTSB, working to carefully roll back the last several hours and identify the cause of the accident. But this time, he can't.

M Grumly is getting better and better
Reviewed: 05-31-22
This is my third or fourth M Grumley book and am pleased to see the evolution of his stories: very well thought out characters, non-obvious plot lines and stories that while fiction, tickle the imagination in such a way that make you truly wonder: ‘Wow, could this be possible??’.
Many thanks for a verrry enjoyable book Michael!

Buen libro!

Pleasant surprise!

I bought this book in tandem with Red NYC and previously had never gotten around to either reading or listening to a Patterson book. So after Red (which I considered very weak) my expectation was that Private would be 'Adios Patterson!' time, particularly since discovering the Jack Reacher series that has such depth and breadth. But oh surprise! Patterson comes thru with a highly entertaining and layered story that in one hand you can't wait for the entire discovery and on the other you don't want to end...

As best-selling author Charles Wheelan shows us in Naked Statistics, the right data and a few well-chosen statistical tools can help us answer these questions and more.
