Story
Two years ago, Louise le Blanc fled her coven and took shelter in the city of Cesarine, forsaking all magic and living off whatever she could steal. There, witches like Lou are hunted. They are feared. And they are burned. As a huntsman of the Church, Reid Diggory has lived his life by one principle: Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. But when Lou pulls a wicked stunt, the two are forced into an impossible situation - marriage. Lou, unable to ignore her growing feelings, yet powerless to change what she is, must make a choice. And love makes fools of us all.

Powerful social commentary. Terrible Narration.

I immensely enjoyed reading Serpent and the Dove. But book's pacing in the third act didn't quite match with the rhythm it should have been told. Audiobook narration is one of the worst I've ever heard. You're better off without it.

Trigger warnings for domestic abuse and attempted rape.
When a lot of people recommend me this book with starred reviews, I didn't know it would turn out to be this good. It's a very powerful story with so many messages. It taught me about love and life more than I ever expected to learn from a contemporary fiction novel. I was shocked by the depth of its exploration into humanity, and I was heartbroken by certain choices characters had to make. But I eventually realized why those choices had to be made for the betterment of everyone.
I was schooled from page one.
And that's not the only good thing. The writing is so good. And the characters were just as amazing. I loved Lily and I loved Alyssa. That's all I can say without spoiling.
This book is a must read. And I can promise you that you'd have learned so much when you finish it.

I loved The Cruel Prince. And I absolutely love The Wicked King. It's one of those rare books that improves upon the first. It's very well written with a beautiful lyrical prose. It's so well done that I couldn't put down the book. I love Holly Black and her writing. Caitlin Kelly's performance is also excellent.
In The Wicked King, Jude, with her sharp wit, is every bit of the willful and strong girl she was in the first book. And Cardan really got under my skin. I love them together and their angst romance. I can't wait to see what happens in the third book.

Another heartfelt love story from Nicholas Sparks

Overall, Safe Haven is a very enjoyable novel. It's not just a love story though; it's also about family. Without that component, the story wouldn't have been as nearly as enjoyable. I love Nicholas Sparks' writing. His love stories are more realistic than most—and this is no exception. With Rebecca Rebecca Lowman's beautiful narration, this book is a worthy fluffy read for a rainy afternoon over a cup of coffee.

Of course I want to be like them. They're beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever. And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe. One terrible morning, Jude and her sisters see their parents murdered in front of them. The terrifying assassin abducts all three girls to the world of Faerie, where Jude is installed in the royal court but mocked and tormented by the Faerie royalty for being mortal.

House of Hades lacks the the flavour and the tension previous books of the series offered. Add that to the poorly performed narration, you have an excruciatingly boring audiobook.
