Story
The shocking tale told in How I Helped O. J. Get Away with Murder is unlike anything you've read before. It isn't Mike Gilbert's "version" of what happened'; it's the unvarnished truth - the truth about O. J., the murders, and the infamous trial, not as Gilbert imagined or would like it to be, but how it actually was.

A cautionary Story

Narration was good. A sad story of a man who sold his soul and seems to have lived with enormous guilt and sorrow. Scorching honesty about his own failures and dreadful decisions. His apology to Fred Goldman was too little and far too late. A sad sad story.

Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

Well researched and damning indictment of Southern Baptist leaders. This will be a difficult read for those not familiar with the SBC heir hierarchy. I found much of this book deeply sad. The conclusion was uplifting. I’m glad I read it. I had read the Guidepost investigation report and this book gave me a better understanding of that scathing report.

Mrs, Kennedy was such a complex individual, I don’t think anyone Could completely describe and dissect her personality. This has some new information. The narrator was a little annoying with her Degaulle and McMillan voices, but not overly so. The book fills some gaps in our knowledge of this fascinating woman, but she still has an aura of the mysterious, even long after her death….but isn’t that the point.

Great story and so well produced, I kept reminding myself, that’s not a real crime podcast. Excellent to present it this way. Actually better in audio book, than the printed book. Couldn’t quit listening. Lucy is a great character, I loved her wit.

Story
The Kennedy name has long been synonymous with wealth, power, glamor, and—above all else—integrity. But this carefully constructed veneer hides a dark truth: the pattern of Kennedy men physically and psychologically abusing women and girls, leaving a trail of ruin and death in each generation’s wake. Through decades of scandal after scandal—from sexual assaults to reputational slander, suicides to manslaughter—the family and their defenders have kept the Kennedy brand intact.
