Story
Like all the Bedwyn men, Aidan has a reputation for cool arrogance. But this proud nobleman also possesses a loyal, passionate heart - and it is this fierce loyalty that has brought Colonel Lord Aidan to Ringwood Manor to honor a dying soldier's request. Having promised to comfort and protect the man's sister, Aidan never expected to find a headstrong, fiercely independent woman who wants no part of his protection, nor did he expect the feelings this beguiling creature would ignite in his guarded heart.

Story
Margaret de Lacey has accepted her unmarried state with dignity, if not delight. She had no suitors when she was young and starry-eyed, though regrettably poor, and it's unlikely any man will court her now that she's older, wiser, and still just as penniless. Until, that is, her brother unexpectedly inherits the dukedom of Durham and settles an enormous dowry on her, making her the most eligible heiress in town.

This a romance! The male narrator made the characters sound like much older people.
Beware that he narrates all the books in the series! I’ve learned an expensive lesson because I purchased the next 3 books in the series before I started listening to this one! Yuck!

The acclaimed New York Times best-selling author brings listeners the first in a very sexy, emotionally rich new series in which sisters from a rather scandalous aristocratic family - the purveyors of the most fashionable shop in Regency London - discover passion and love as sumptuous as the exquisite gowns they create.

When I saw that there was a man and women doing the narrating I was so happy! Finally a narration using male and a female voices! Boy was I wrong. The man’s voice was too old sounding. But what very badly done was the two voices they used were used for both characters. Sad to say I enjoyed the story but it was very distracting for the voices!
