Story
To those who matter in 1950s Hollywood, Lena Scott is the hottest rising star to hit the silver screen since Marilyn Monroe. Few know her real name is Abra. Even fewer know the price she' s paid to finally feel like she' s somebody. To Pastor Ezekiel Freeman, Abra will always be the little girl who stole his heart the night he found her, a wailing newborn abandoned under a bridge on the outskirts of Haven.

Story
The Baxters make plans to come together for a summer lakeside reunion, a celebration like they haven’t had in years. But before the big day, the unthinkable happens. As the Baxter family rallies together, memories come to light in the grief-stricken hours of waiting and praying, memories that bring healing and hope during a time when otherwise darkness might have the final word.

Meaningful

I enjoy the thoughtfulness of Karen Kingsbury's writings. While the Baxter's are quite the family she brings a good mix of reality and fiction. The Baxter's are not great because of a romanticizing but rather the trials they experience and their continual turning to God. Thank you Karen for keeping it real. God is love and yearns for a close relationship with Him; as shown in your books
